My room on the second floor of the bungalow was just gorgeous - I had all the light I wanted, the bed was perfect, and everything was super clean. I liked the bathroom too - open, airy. And the host provided shampoo and soap and good towels. I also loved that the drinking water was provided in the room! And the hammock upstairs in the room is just pure luxury.||||I initially thought the place is right on the beach, but it is behind some other construction, about 15 steps from the beach. I was first disappointed about that but then quickly realized that it provided nice tranquility and the surf could be heard just as much throughout the day in the room - a beautiful sound to fall asleep to. ||||The waters of the Mermejita beach were not swim-able at this time of the year (apparently the waves only come down from Dec to Feb), but the spectacular waves were amazing to watch. Again, at first I was sad I could not swim right next to my temporary home, but then was grateful for the beautiful waves show that took place every day. I could sit on the beach chair for hours mesmerized. Especially since that meant that the beach was always empty! Probably a very few places left like this in the world.||||To get to the town, you need to hike up a hill by a cemetery and then schlep down, but it is not too onerous. And the host offered to take us there any time we wanted if he was around. Taxi is also about USD 2. We walked and even with the heat of the mid-day were doing fine. ||||Finally, the breakfast is convenient but nothing to write home about. A bit of fruit, a bit of yogurt, an egg. But it is good to have something in the morning and then eat more in the town. ||||I wish I stayed more than three nights and...
Read moreGreat location because it's a bit out of the way in the best way. Tucked in close to everything but quiet from dawn to dusk. Perfect escape 10 min walk to mazunte and 2 min walk to the beach. Where you can watch the sun fall into the ocean at sunset and lounge in the sand. |Jump on an open back truck to San agustinillo was a 5 min ride. ||This hotel had a nature oasis vibe to it very green garden in a very desert-like place. Beers breakfast and light snacks available. You will find no shortage of food in mazunte. Wonderful showers with warm water (rare in the area) local made soaps. The concrete stays cool during the day making it easy to retreat for a few hours and have a siesta ||Sid is a wonderful host and quite accommodating. Sid is very friendly and it almost seems like a shame I can't think of specific examples for this review. He speaks English well but his staff do not so brush up on a few key Spanish phrases or google them while your there.||The only downside is Sid was in town when we checked in and with almost no Spanish tried to communicate how we wanted to check in it worked out in less than 20 minutes but just be prepared you are going to a less touristy place if you don't speak Spanish ||Great stay! Make sure you sit on the beach for sunset! Would go back...
Read moreTwo Irish girls stopping by at this insanely gorgeous place! A really beautiful location right beside where everyone goes to watch the sunset, there’s a little hill which we enjoyed sets you up for a delicious margarita. Fall asleep listening to the ocean after reading your book in the hammock above. The staff were super friendly and helpful, the owner Siddhartha organised the most incredible whale watching trip, we were so grateful to see so many humpbacks and dolphins up close. Truly magical. Personally I didn’t miss air con as there’s a sea breeze and the fan was perfect. We woke up to freshly chopped fruit each morning and they welcomed us with a lovely cold beer. Laundry service available also which was great! Highly...
