From the moment I stepped onto the property at Casa Ganesh, I felt something shift. You’re immediately greeted by stunning archways — sculptural and elegant — guiding you in, as if the space itself is welcoming you to a new land. After a long day of travel, I was met by Sandra, the host, who didn’t just check me in — she embraced me like an old friend. Before even asking for my name, she offered the washroom, let me drop my bags, and chatted with me like we’d known each other for years. That ease and warmth set the tone for everything that followed.||After giving me a tour of the property and my room, she handed me an insulated tote in case I wanted to visit the little market across the street. She asked if I needed anything extra and had it sent to my room without hesitation. She also let me know about their VIP access to Ahau (just a few minutes' walk away) and Rosa Negra — a sweet surprise and a perfect way to enjoy your first night in Tulum, if you need some ideas for your night out.||Casa Ganesh itself feels magical — like a secret, tucked away just enough to feel sacred, yet steps from everything. It’s located right in the heart beat of beach zone, near the cool restaurants, bars, and beach clubs — but somehow still feels hidden, and peaceful. At night, the rawness of nature is softened by a deep sense of safety. The villas are designed with great care: warm lighting, beautiful arches leading from the entrance to a breathtaking ocean view, and thoughtful décor that complements — rather than competes with natural elements. You can feel the reverence in every detail. Someone truly honors the energy of this place.||I came to Tulum to meet friends and decided to extend my stay alone. That solitude could’ve felt lonely, but instead, it felt nourishing — even held. When I checked out, Sandra gave me a list of hand-picked shops and restaurants to explore. I trusted her taste and visited nearly all of them, I was not disappointed. I had also planned to just grab a coffee and go, but she reminded me that breakfast at Ahau was included. So instead of rushing off, I lingered over a peaceful meal in a beautiful setting — one that allowed me to start my next journey calm, happy, and full. Just one more way Casa Ganesh felt more like a beloved home than a hotel.||Even after I left, the hotel messaged me about a bangle I had forgotten — a piece my mother gave me from India. I hadn't noticed it was missing, but it’s deeply special to me. Her care in making sure it found its way back reminded me how rare it is to be cared for like that. Years ago, I left a pair of sandals from my now-deceased grandmother at a hotel in LA. Despite my efforts, they were tossed. I was heartbroken. The contrast in Sandra’s kindness touched something deep in me.||Tips:||Take advantage of the VIP access to Ahau and enjoy breakfast there at least once. It’s a perfect way to kickstart your day.||Say yes to Sandra’s recommendations — they’re curated with heart and local insight, offering a true taste of Tulum.||Let yourself settle in. This isn’t a flashy place — it’s soulful, a retreat for both body and mind.||Casa Ganesh is located in the heartbeat of the beach zone, with easy access to popular spots like Raw Love, Hartwood, and Casa Banana, but it still offers a serene, tucked-away vibe.||Casa Ganesh is the kind of place that stays with you. I’ll carry the joy, peace, and care I felt here for a long, long time.||Thank you, and see...

Let me start by saying, this is the first negative review I have written in my 35 years of travel. I understand the weight that negative reviews can have on a company and do not do this lightly, but I feel that I should warn others of the ramifications of staying in a complex that has a locked gate and 24/7 security guards. There is a false sense of security that comes along with that, and we are convinced that these belongings were stolen by someone that knew how to avoid the security cameras and someone that was watching us come and go as a group.
We stayed (party of 6) at the 3 bedroom at Casa Ganesh for 4 nights in November for my son’s three day wedding celebration. The majority of rest of the rooms in Casa Ganesh complex were rented by our friends and relatives as well.
The groomsmen got ready at our 3 bedroom Casa and left their belongings at our place while we all attended the 4:00 wedding on Saturday. When we arrived back after the wedding and reception, one of the backpacks had been stolen. The contents of that backpack included a passport, laptop, car rental keys, AirPods, Apple Watch and a pair of glasses.
Not only were these items gone, but a new rental car had to be delivered from Cancun and the rented car had to be re-keyed to prevent future theft. That cost alone was over $900.00. He also had to spend an extra day going to the embassy to get an emergency passport for his new flight home.
On Sunday, when we should have been at the Farewell brunch saying goodbye to the wedding guests, part of our group including two of the groomsmen, were at the police station filling out reports and asking for a police escort to the apartment complex in Tulum where we were able to track the stolen property using Find My function from the cell phone to the Apple Watch. The police informed us that if we could track it to a specific unit number, they would retrieve it. Unfortunately they were not able to do that, because the complex was behind a locked gate.
Sandra, with Casa Ganesh said they did not see anything suspicious from the security footage that night. My son and daughter-in-law gave Sandra the apartment complex address in case she might know something that we didn’t, but they got no response from that. , With all the expenses collectively for all of the rooms and the house that we, as a group spent during the 4-5 day stay, we were not offered any compensation for the loss of property. Not even one night stay in the 3 bedroom was offered for our loss of a full day of enjoyment and a couple of sleepless night with dealing with all of this.
Needless to say, we are very disappointed in how this was handled. Just know that if you choose to stay here, be aware that you might be being observed by thieves that live in an apartment...
Read moreI was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It was a peaceful stay. If you are looking for an affordable and nice hotel then I would recommend Casa Ganesh. I went with my best friend and we stayed in a Standard Room. Breakfast may be included if you select the option, and you would only take a short walk to their sister hotel Ahau for the breakfast (beautiful with view of the beach). You also get coffee delivered every morning right on your balcony upon request. The Front Desk is easily contactable through WhatsApp, and the wifi connection was actually decent! I was able to do my school work with no issues, and use facetime on the beach. The Front Desk team can also set up tours for you, and give you recommendations, all you have to do is ask and they are extremely willing to help you promptly. This hotel is on a busy street (where all the hotels, clubs and restaurants are), so I will say that it is rather loud at night- you can hear the music from other businesses at night but it did not really bother us too much (I use earplugs every night regardless). This hotel also has 24 hour security, and we felt safe at all times. ||We also had the privilege of making some friends who stayed in their biggest room, which is located facing the beach, with their own private small pool, multiple rooms and bathrooms. It was a great room, affordable, and can sleep up to 8 people. Definitely would come back to stay in this room with more friends. ||Other perks: You get access to their 2 other sister hotels just minutes away by walking. Specifically at Ahau Hotel. you have free access to their art garden with their famous sculpture. ||Other comments: Tulum is very expensive, but there are ways to get more affordable food and experiences if you venture downtown (away from the beach strip). Shoutout to Mr. Shmokeys (on beach strip, 3 mins away from Casa Ganesh) for being affordable, having big portions, and all around...
