Review of Rosa Negra
I recently visited Rosa Negra for a birthday celebration with a group of 11, and while the initial atmosphere seemed promising, our experience quickly deteriorated.
To start, I informed the hostess about my food allergy, but it felt like my concerns went unheard. I had to remind them three times, and still, two dishes needed to be sent back for re-preparation. Although my allergy isn't severe, it’s concerning that the restaurant didn't seem to prioritize the matter, leaving me uneasy about potential cross-contamination.
The situation worsened when it began to rain. Although the venue is semi-outdoor with a roof, we were caught off guard when water started leaking from the ceiling, directly onto our meals—including my $90 steak. This lack of regard for our dining experience was astonishing. Instead of offering viable solutions, the staff merely replaced our food, but by then, my appetite was completely ruined. To add insult to injury, when we got home, we found that we had received the same dishes that had been soaked by rainwater!
Moreover, I was told that certain items would be removed from our bill, yet upon reviewing the charges at home, I discovered that this was not the case. It's hard to shake the feeling of being misled.
In addition to the food mishap, the rain had also ruined my white clothes, getting steak juices and oil all over them, which is unacceptable for a restaurant of this caliber. Given the high prices in Tulum, I expected a certain level of quality and experience, but Rosa Negra fell significantly short.
It’s disappointing that a restaurant with such high prices and a well-known reputation cannot address basic issues like a leaky roof. This lack of accountability suggests that they are more focused on profit than customer experience. If it weren't for the rain, I imagine we could have enjoyed our evening, but under the circumstances, I cannot recommend Rosa Negra. Consider this a warning for anyone planning...
Read moreAbsolutely horrible. We came there for just a couple of drinks. We told the server, Roberto, multiple times what we wanted. I wanted Tiramisu with a cold cappuccino, my other family member wanted a hot cappuccino. After 30 minutes of him stumbling around the bar, he came with two COLD cappuccinos. We ask him for the hot cappuccino, and then he never comes back. Then one of the lady waitresses comes around asking if we need anything refill (since I have already finished my cappuccino). We ask again for the hot cappuccino and tiramisu. The hot cappuccino arrives after 15 minutes, but my tiramisu doesn't. I asked for the tiramisu again. Another 30 minutes later, we tell them we no longer want the cake and just want the check. The lady comes back 15 minutes later asking if we want the check. She then never comes back, instead, a guy (not Roberto) arrives 15 minutes later. Throughout this experience, I just wanted my tiramisu and pay lmao 😭 the service is so slow here that a turtle could do a better job. There was also a bunch of guys moving stuff. In the entire restaurant, there were more workers than customers. The atmosphere was not welcoming, and I highly suggest that you choose a...
