I recently visited this super cool sculpture called "Ven a la Luz," which means "Come into the Light" in English, and wow, it was amazing! Imagine a giant wooden sculpture that looks like a person mixed with a tree. It's like something from a fairy tale book where magic trees come to life.
This sculpture is really, really big – like taller than a house! And it's standing right on the beach, so you can play in the sand and then look up to see this giant wooden figure that seems to be inviting you to come and explore. It's like it's guarding the beach and watching over everyone having fun.
The coolest part is how it's made. The sculpture has all these intricate designs and patterns that make it super interesting to look at. You can see through some parts of it because it's not all solid, which makes it look even more magical, especially when the sunlight shines through it.
Going to see "Ven a la Luz" made me feel like I was on an adventure, discovering something ancient and mysterious. It's not just something you look at; it feels like it's a part of the beach and the sky and the sun. It's so big and beautiful, it made me feel really small but in a good way, like I was part of something bigger.
Oh, and guess what? Seeing this awesome sculpture only costs $5 USD or $100 MXN, which is totally worth it because it's not every day you get to see something this cool and magical. It's like paying a little bit to step into a fairy tale!
But here's the thing to remember: there's only 1 minute per person for photos or videos. So, if you're going with someone, you'll have 2 minutes together. And everyone is really watching the clock to make sure you don't go over even by a few seconds. It makes those moments super precious because you have to make every second count.
Everyone should go see this sculpture if they can. It's not just for looking at pictures; being there in person is a whole different experience. You get to see how amazing and detailed it is up close, and the beach around it is really pretty too. Plus, with the ticket being so affordable and the photo rule, it's a fun challenge to capture your best shot in a short time.
"Ven a la Luz" is definitely one of the coolest things I've seen. It's like a guardian of the beach that's always there, welcoming you to come and play and explore. I can't wait to go back and...
Read moreThe Tulum Sculpture Park is a nice little visit while you’re in Tulum. (Easy to get to, if your coming from Playa Del Carmen or Cancun)
The park itself is easy to get too, the car park is across the road. It’s costs 200 Mxn pesos (£10 GBP) for the day. So if you’re going anywhere after the park for example to one of the big beach clubs then your car is safe there.
Getting into the Tulum Sculpture park was easy, it’s across the street from the car park and it’s next door to a Starbucks. The entrance fee is cash only, so no card payment what so ever. The fee itself costs 100 Mxn Pesos (£4.50 GBP)
Once in there, you’re free to do whatever you want. Of course the Escultura Ven A La Luz is probably the most famous photo in the whole of Yucatan Peninsula other than Chichen Itza.
I went on a Sunday roughly at 16:00, the park itself was very quiet. No cue what so ever, I could imagine during the dry season here in Mexico. When the main tourist come, then it could get busy in there. However I didn’t suffer the “1 Min” photo shoot rule, so could take many pictures as I wanted. So if your partner is wanting a full on photo shoot then maybe go in the afternoons when it’s quiet.
There’s other sculpture there too, which is nice to take pictures of. However the Escultura Ven A La Luz the main star of the show...
Read moreIf you're visiting Tulum, the Ven a la Luz sculpture is an absolute must-see. This striking and symbolic piece of art, created by South African artist Daniel Popper, is not only visually stunning but also rich in meaning. The sculpture represents a harmonious connection between humans and nature, with a breathtaking design that seems to open up the figure’s chest to reveal a lush passage of greenery inside.
There is a small entrance fee of \$5 USD per person, which goes toward the upkeep of the piece and surrounding area. While some might hesitate at the charge, it’s well worth it—not only for the opportunity to see this iconic sculpture up close, but also for the smaller photo installations within the same mini-exhibit. You'll find other beautiful and artistic backdrops ideal for photography lovers or anyone looking to capture a memorable moment in Tulum.
Whether you're an art enthusiast or just exploring local landmarks, Ven a la Luz is a beautiful, symbolic, and Instagram-worthy stop that adds something special to your...
