me and my boyfriend stayed here from the 3rd september to the 12th and it was one of the best holidays for us!||FOOD AND DRINKS: personally we found the food amazing, a lot of variety and always some food for those who are more fussy eaters. fresh eggs and omelettes in the morning and they do fresh meats and fish in the evening. we had no issue finding a table as we were kindly looked after by riahi (i believe that’s his name) and he always had a glass of rose and beer waiting for us at the best seat in the restaurant! they had STORK as their beer and a wide range of cocktails. the queue in the evening can be quite long but we went to the sports bar as they do the same drinks and some more common cocktails however you have to pay roughly 60 dirhams for these. big shoutout to all the bar especially the one with curly hair and the manager! ||BARS: there are 5 bars in total: the beach bar, main bar, pool bar, sports bar, and another beach front bar. the beachfront bar was nice for a quiet drink to chill in the evening and has a lovely view of the sea. we didn’t have a great experience at the main beach bar as we waited 2 hours for our food and the staff weren’t the best. we did try again and we waited only 10 minutes. we believe it’s because the manager was not in the first time and we have heard the same from other people we spoke to. just be wary of this as we were being ignored and took forever to get our food. we don’t often complain but the staff and chefs were doing nothing and was giving horrible looks to us, telling us that it is not their problem! the pool bar does not serve alcohol which was a shame but the other two bars were fantastic with amazing staff.||CLEANLINESS: pool was cleaned daily as well as the rooms. sometimes we weren’t given all the towels we were meant to have but they would later on bring the rest of what we needed. you always see people cleaning around the hotel so don’t listen to peoples reviews, people over exaggerate about this but we had no issue with it and found that there was constantly people cleaning. ||CHECK-IN AND CHECKOUT: we checked in around 12-12:30 and we were worried about not being able to check in till 3 but if you just ask your room could be ready. it was quite a long check in as they had a lot of people and the hotel was nearly fully booked. we felt like we were being tossed around however we couldn’t fault them as they had a lot of people coming in at once and all the staff were stressed off their feet. we did feel abandoned after we checked in as we were not told where anything was or where the room was. but we have seen others check in and they were escorted and told about where everything was. we just caught it on a bad day which happens! check out is at 12 but they do NOT cut your bands off and you still have access to the all inclusive. ||ENTERTAINMENT: the best entertainment team we have ever met. compared to other holidays we have been on, the team really try to connect with you, get you to contribute in their shows and games. extremely talented people with lots of dancing. we were part of the wedding during morrocco night and i was nervous at first but it was the best!! you really get into doing the entertainment things as your holiday goes on. so much love to all the entertainment team: riri, achraf, hamza, hassan, touzi and the guy with the cap! i didn’t catch everyone’s name but they were the absolute best. |massive shoutout to the best towel boy in morocco, mohamed, he will give you the best service and the best laugh! we truely appreciated everything the entertainment team did and for giving us such a fun experience. ||WEATHER: not about the hotel but i know a lot of people are curious about the sea mist. the first two days we were there it was misty but it was still humid. after that the sky cleared up for the rest of the time we were there and it was amazing! we got lucky and it’s just something you have to hope for really. don’t believe the weather app!||OUTSIDE THE HOTEL: where the hotel is located is mainly around other hotels. if you go outside the back of the hotel onto the beach, turn RIGHT and it’s roughly 30 minute walk to a strip of shops. we didn’t walk too much into the strip but we heard good things! you can also leave via the main enterance and if you walk across the street there are some shops up there.||overall we absolutely loved this hotel and would 100% come again. i was worried because of the reviews i had seen but this has been the best holiday. people will be people so it’s hard to tell but i would highly recommend...
Read moreWe spent 10 days at the Dune d'Or Hotel on an all-inclusive package. While there were a few minor drawbacks, overall we had a great time — especially for families and those who enjoy the convenience of an all-inclusive resort.||🏨 Hotel & Check-In|The hotel is a large beachfront resort with plenty of space and amenities. We arrived at around 10 PM and were given our wristbands straight away so we could head to tea while waiting for the room — a really smooth start.||Check-in requires filling out a form with passport details and paying a tourist tax, which we hadn’t seen mentioned in other reviews — just something to be aware of.||Staff were friendly and helpful throughout, particularly the receptionist and porter who showed us to our room. Our accommodation was located at the back of the resort on the 3rd floor. Note: there are no lifts, so if you have mobility issues, request a room on the ground floor.||🛏️ Room||We had two rooms next to each other, which worked perfectly for us. Both were spacious, clean, and had balconies overlooking the gardens and pool.||Beds: Twin beds pushed together — comfortable enough.||Bathroom: Clean and spacious with a large walk-in shower.||Extras: Free air conditioning, safe, kettle, fridge, and daily bottled water.||Housekeeping: Excellent — rooms were cleaned thoroughly every day.||Power: Two keys provided, so one can be used to keep the electricity on when you’re out — very convenient.||🍽️ Food & Drink||The food was decent overall, with a few highlights:||Breakfast (7–10 AM): Continental-style with omelettes made to order. Tasty, but repetitive after several days so we stopped going. ||Lunch (12:30–2:30 PM): Surprisingly better than dinner — fresh, varied, and satisfying.|Dinner (7–9:30 PM): Good overall, with menus rotating weekly. Last day the waiter layed lut flowers which was brilliant. ||There are also three à la carte restaurants:|Moroccan: Not to our taste — possibly better for those who are already familiar with Moroccan flavors.||Italian & Seafood: Both were excellent. Officially, you're limited to one reservation per week, but with a friendly attitude, we managed to try all three! 😉||Drinks:||Self-serve soft drinks — very convenient.|Beer: Only one option, but it grows on you.|Cocktails: Premixed — okay, not amazing.|Wine: Good quality, clearly aimed at French guests.||🏖️ Pools & Facilities||There are four pools across the resort:|A kids' pool near the kids’ club.|A waterpark area — we didn’t use it, but it looked great.||A quieter relaxation pool — usually busy.|The main pool is large and clean in terms of water, but the surrounding tiles need maintenance (chipped and sandy alot of the time).|Sunbeds: Easy to get one early (around 8 AM), but it fills up quickly by 10. Towel reservations are respected.||Pool bar: Offers soft drinks, coffee, and water only.||Snacks at 4 PM: Mostly French pastries — fine for a quick bite.||🍹 Bars & Entertainment||Beach Bar: Open 11 AM–6 PM with great views and music — a nice place to relax.||Main Bar: Open 10 AM–11 PM — friendly service, but note that drinks stop promptly at 11, so stock up if you want to stay out later. Is advertised as open till 12/1 not true. ||“Sports Bar”: Disappointing — no working pool table or sports broadcasts. Just another bar, unfortunately.||Entertainment:||Daily activities run from 10 AM to 5 PM and again in the evening from 9 PM–11 PM.||Foam parties, dancing, and games were well-organized and lots of fun.||Evening shows run on a weekly schedule — themes like Latino night, Morocco night, music bingo, and more.||Kids disco is held every evening.|Themed dress nights (white, black, traditional Moroccan) were a fun and thoughtful addition.||🚕 Location & Extras||Location: Close to local shops, restaurants, and bars if you want to venture out.|Taxis: Use orange taxis — they’re much more affordable.||Family-Friendly: Absolutely. There’s plenty for kids and parents alike.||For Adventurers: If you’re looking for cultural exploration or off-resort adventures, this may not be the best fit — it’s very much a...
Read moreI travelled with my family on Friday, 19th April 2025. We were a group of six adults and two children and one baby. We got to the venue around 2 pm and they informed us that the check-in is at 3 pm and our rooms are not ready so we have to wait which wasn't a problem. After almost 40 minutes, a gentleman comes informes us he can't find our booking and has to wait for a colleague only to learn he did not check the reservation under the lead passenger. It's now past 3pm and we ask them when can we go to our room the same gentleman now informes us only one room (2109) is half ready so all nine guest can go to that room until the other two rooms are ready. We asked if the rooms would be next to each other as we had emailed them several weeks in advance. The gentleman said yes, it would be. However at almost 6pm after speaking to several people they gave us two more rooms that were very far one room was in a different building and the other being all the way on the other side of the building at 2133. Despite being extremely disappointed, we didn't want to let that ruin our holiday. We asked reception several times if they can fix room 2109 as they had put nine people in that room and was only half complete (no pillow case on pillows, no towels in the bathroom, bra left behind, bathroom had not been cleaned) also bathroom sliding door would not close and phone in that room did not work. They told us 10 minutes, which led to over one hour until I went to reception and asked to speak to a manager. Staff were not apologetic at all and did not care. We had small children with us.
We paid extra and changed our flight to an early one soo we have the whole day to unpack and relax however due to the hotel not having our rooms ready or complete until 7pm literally wasted our whole day and felt like it was a waste of our money changing to an earlier flight.
Majority of the staff at the main restaurant were extremely unhelpful in terms of helping you find a table or even helping to put tables together as we were a big group or even brining a high chair as we would have to ask several times or go search for one as they did not have a dedicated area for them in comparison to other resorts we have stayed at. We noticed the restaurant staff were extremely helpful to people from "European countries" and although we are from England but have brown skin we received a completely different treatment not by all but majority of the restaurant stuff especially the more older ones. When asking staff for sugar or milk, they would just say "no" either they didn't understand me or was not bothered to help. On two occasions waiters have tried directing me to a seating area a floor below the restaurant despite me having a baby with a buggy and it would require me to use stairs to go up and down to get food and is the furtherest seating area from the restaurant, despite having empty tables that were not cleared which could easily be cleared to accommodate us. I found this extremely inconsiderate and unhelpful. I even experienced people behind me getting served first at the bar just before the beach, which I believe was due to skin colour cause I do not see any other reason for it.
I would not recommend anyone who does not speak French to stay at this resort as the staff only speak French and are extremely unhelpful towards those that do not speak French despite using Google translate or showing them images.
I have been to 4 different destinations with my baby so far and by far this has been my worst experience in terms of how unhelpful staff are and also unable to get basic things like water to make milk.
On a positive note, the children really enjoyed the kids club and would highly recommend it. Staff member Suki was very nice and helpful. Staff at the Spa were also very friendly and definitely recommend getting a massage from Fatima and Maryam.
Overall, I would never go back or recommend anyone to go there. Also food at the main restaurant was not nice at all and practically the same dishes for lunch and...
