This stay was back in Aug 2021.
The only positives were the cleaning staff who were very warm and welcoming. That’s all. The pool was barely 1.75m with broken edges which posed a hazard to many small children, and we weren’t given half the services promised by the hotel such as a clean room or a decent view of the beach.
The reception staff were despicable. We had been assured that a later check out was possible with extra payment, but on the day we came back to the hotel with our rooms locked and all our property locked inside. The staff refused to open the doors for an hour, then tried to blackmail us and ask for money. One member gave us a “5 minute” time limit to finish packing and leave the hotel despite it being 3 hours prior to our agreed check out time. They kicked us out of our rooms despite us telling them beforehand about our late check- out and then still expected us to pay £30 extra for ‘troubling’ them.
They also tried stealing our money from our room. On two separate occasions we came back to our suitcases and safe (hotel owned) opened and searched. We were told they couldn’t get access to the rooms without our key, but obviously disproved this by barging in at 9am everyday to clean. When we pointed this out, they said “you can leave the hotel but you wont get a refund or access to your things in the safe.” Also, the restaurant served a very limited and bland range of food. There was no seasoning in the food, not even salt. The restaurant was always empty and room service was not given to us as asked for the entire first week of our stay. The staff demanded we have to go down to the restaurant if we wanted food. We had to pay extra money afterwards when my daughter was sick for them to bring room service. Another let down was in the form of the ‘kettle incident’. We were promised tea and coffee making facilities prior to our stay and during our check in. We noticed a kettle in our room but no sugar, tea or coffee. The kettle upon inspection had old mould and was clearly left unwashed from its past use. We requested a change in kettle and we’re told we shouldn’t have “stolen one from the restaurant”. We politely explained we had only just arrived at the hotel moments ago and had found it in the hotel room but the member of staff was rude and dismissive and tried to add a charge for it. It was a difficult stay and one we will not repeat. The absolute worst stay of my life. I cannot believe a hotel would actually kick their paying customers out and accuse them of stealing, charge extra for basic services like room service and expect customers to accept their behaviour. This run down hotel is definitely NOT worthy of 4* nor is it close to a 3 star establishment. Firstly, the breakfast was terrible hardly any choice very poor quality , coffee machine was always out of order which was quite disappointing. No cups always had to ask different members of staff . The juice offered was watered down, and overall, the food quality was very poor non existent!
The room conditions were equally poor. The towels provided were dirty, and there was an issue with the shower—water wouldn’t flow properly. The plug hole in the bathroom was blocked, and there was no shower curtain, making it difficult to use the facilities. Especially for an 77 year old woman who could have slipped and broke her ankle after complaining several times and begging one was provided.. Additionally, electrical sockets were hanging off the wall, which felt very unsafe.
When we arrived, the room door locks weren’t working properly, so we had to change rooms. My son also lost his jacket in the room not been found ! Unfortunately, this didn’t fix all the problems. To make matters worse, a guest came into our room through an adjoining door, at 1:45 am which raised serious concerns about security.
On top of all this, one particular male receptionist staff was very rude and abrupt and unhelpful. My friend, who had a health issue, (previous major heart attack )was upset with the lack of understanding and assistance from the team. Bar staff was wonderful . A manager named Nourdine was very nice and kind hearted cannot fault him unfortunately he was not around when the above chap was hostile and aggressive but disguised it a smug way ! First time I stayed here in 2024 at the checking out time I was quoted 400dh for a massage I Did Not have .. Had to sign a document to say I did not have a massage I was left feeling very scared and upset
Overall, this stay was far below the standards we expected, I will not use this hotel again.. @Booking.com need to read the reviews and take further steps to ensure this does not happen to other guest..I booked two rooms but faulty and unacceptable in every way I have contacted Booking.com on a number of times to ask for a refund Oddysee hotel has refused any money to me .. pls...
Read moreDO NOT STAY HERE!!!! I reserved our room more than one month in advance of our arrival in Agadir. Upon arrival, they had us waiting for at least 45 minutes to check-in. I think they didn't have a room ready for us. Once they took us up to our room, we realized it looked like a room they use for backup (electric outlets not covered, bathroom tiles very dirty, Air conditioning not working). But the worst problem was the music from the hotel's nightclub. The music is loud and can be heard in the room as if you're in the nightclub. We complained and they switched us to another room the next day. The a/c was a little better but we ended up buying a fan to have it a little cooler in the room. However, the music was still a major issue. You cannot sleep until the music stops which doesn't happen until 4:30 am every single night. We stayed for a week and could not sleep at night. We had to sleep in through most of the morning missing the breakfast we paid for but quickly realized we weren't missing too much. The breakfast is absolutely horrendous. Same options daily with flies all over everything. Pastries were all dry and stale. Fruits were limited in quantity. Coffee and tea were weak and tasteless. No salt can be found anywhere. I asked one day for salt and the guy disappeared and could not be found after. Juices were all watered down and most likely from a box not freshly squeezed. Another major issue was no wi-fi at all. We were told each day a technician is working on the issue but I think they were lying through their teeth each time. I asked several times to speak to a manager but was told he is not around no matter which day or time I asked. They offered to switch us to another room but it was a smaller room and they did not want to charge us less. They said they cannot refund us either if we left. I had booked and paid for junior suite and was offered a superior room which was smaller and more congested. We had to ask for towels each day. They were limited and not clean, very poor quality. Furniture in rooms were antiquated. There were odorous smells in the hallways. Hallway lights were often off which left the hallways very dark and scary. No bottle water is provided in room. The actual water was cut off one day with no warning or explanation. AVOID...
