I had a fantastic ten-day stay at EBH at the beginning of September 2021. Everything was just perfect: the cleanliness, the comfortable beds, the view of the sea from the window, which is especially beautiful at sunset, the breakfast buffet in the morning. But most important was the kindness of the staff and the unsurpassed rooftop, where hostel guests chatted or even played music together until late at night. The vibe was mega relaxed and soothing.
The bar serves non-alcoholic drinks and deliciously prepared food at good prices. If you want, you can also prepare your own food. In the hostel kitchen there is a fridge for the guests, the kitchen is always clean and can be used. If you want, you can buy alcohol in a shop only 100 metres from the hostel or in the Carrefour, which you have to walk about 25 minutes to or can get to by taxi (0.7€/ride).
My 19-year-old son, who was there with me, also really enjoyed his stay. The Wi-Fi satisfied him and he quickly made connections with the other guests on the rooftop and felt very comfortable.
The hostel is ideally located: To the right along the beach, it is a 20-minute walk to the medina, the old town of Essaouira. To the left, the never-ending beach with its fine clean sand is available for long walks. The climate is also wonderfully suitable for this: While in Marrakech a heat wave of 45 degrees Celsius made life difficult for people and animals, in Essaouira it was consistently about 25 degrees and mostly windy. So many activities are possible, such as quad biking, riding (horses and camels), kite surfing and surfing. The hostel itself offers surfboards and arranges kitesurfing activities.
Speaking of the cleanliness of the beach: On Friday, we went to the beach with other hotel guests and equipped with rubbish bags to collect rubbish together. It wasn't that easy, because there wasn't that much dirt. We were rewarded by the hostel with a free couscous in the afternoon.
My thanks go especially to Usama, Badr, Mohamed and all the other hostel staff for giving us a very happy and memorable holiday in this beautiful place. Inchallah we...
Read moreI've been to the hostel four times. Had a wonderful time with friends, alone and with partner. What makes this hostel so special is the friendly staff, location and spaces. The hostel is very spacious and has two large roof terraces overlooking the ocean. There are many sitting areas and spaces so that you can always find a place when you need some rest. If you want fun, this is also easy to find. Various activities are organized in the hostel such as cous cous evening or yoga in which you can participate. The vibe is very cozy and open minded. I sleep well in this hostel (I'm a light sleeper). It is quiet on time (after 11.00 pm) and people are considerate of each other. Earplugs are recommended for outside noise like dogs. I have always been very friendly helped by the staff with all my questions. They are always willing to think along and visibly work very hard to make the guests feel comfortable and to keep the hostel clean. You can also eat very well at the hostel for a very affordable price and the breakfast is varied and delicious.
The only thing I have to criticize is that in some private rooms the toilet is in the shower. Downstairs are nice hot and clean showers for everyone so it didn't matter to me, but if you do, this is inconvenient.
Finally, the hostel is within walking distance of the center, so you can look up the hustle and bustle when you need it. I kitesurf myself and enjoy the wind security every time (in the summer months) and the spot within walking distance. I will be staying here often in the...
