It is a beautiful hotel located in the heart of Rabat. This is a very contemporary hotel with Wi-Fi, business center, confortable beds and showers. There is also a safe inside the room. My personal practice is to leave my passport in the hotel and walk the streets with a copy in my pocket. I never walked alone and always found others that would like to walk. This is a good way to make friends among fellow travelers. Very convenient, the hotel is located near Rabat Archeological Museum, the Tour Hassan, the Mausoleum of Mohamed V. and the Kasabah of the Udayas. You can walk up to two miles in all direction. I felt safe and there is police everywhere. Traffic is controlled by lights and just followed the people when crossing heavy traffic streets. The Hotel has two restaurants. The Le Bar Xo is open every night. The atmosphere is very chic, with a vibrant music and jazz atmosphere and a snack bar. The La Brasserie restaurant is a Parisian style. It serves palatable seafood cuisine and Moroccan dishes. There is also a 24 hours room service.
Hint: do no be afraid to walk blocks form this hotel. There are many small café’s. There you can enjoy a cup of fresh brewed mint tea. The preparation of the tea is a unique experience. Most Moroccans are very polite and friendly and love to talk. A great percentage speaks English, French, and Spanish.

Read moreUpon arrival at the hotel, I was disappointed to find that it had no gym, it was booked for me by my office though, so I had no legitimate right to expect one, but these days it seems to be a pretty standard expectation. My main issue was basic organisation, cleanliness and hygiene. We had an event in the hotel, it took until well after the event began for the dirty glasses and half-used refreshments from whoever was in the room before us to be taken away and for new drinks and snacks to be brought in for us. There was no water, the orange juice was such thick pulp as to be completely undrinkable. My room appeared to be quite clean until I realised that there was an ant nest in the room! A hole in the carpet underneath the desk proved to be where they were coming in and out. I found them on the desk going for the food that I had brought from the local shop. The room service was okay, apart from the fact , I had to go physically down to the restaurant to order it because nobody picked up the phone for room service and nobody picked up the phone for Reception. I had the club sandwich which was average and a crème brûlée which I have to say was delicious. A colleague had the cheeseburger and said it was terrible. The lifts are very bad - very jerky and rough. Check-in took way too long and the attitude of the Reception staff to a colleague whose booking had been lost was not helpful. Overall would...
Read moreWhat an amazing stay I had a Hotel Le Diwan in Rabat, Morocco. Hotel management (Salah) greeted me upon arrival and escorted me to my room with a basket of fruits and cookies after a long flight. The hotel is within walking distance of the medina, marina, new theatre, several banks, restaurants, and bakeries. The spa is amazing! If you've never been to a Moroccan Hamman, you are missing out on a treat. Go downstairs and book a massage with Najia and Hamman bath with Asilaa.
You must take advantage of including breakfast (and dinner) with your hotel stay. The breakfast selection was delicious; fresh fruit, fresh squeezed orange juice, coffee, delicious french pastries and more.
Room service was excellent. Aichia took care of my room everyday (Bonjour! Madam). The entire staff was very attentive, always asking if everything was good. On a last note; the level of hygiene is excellent. At the front entrance, the host takes your temperature and provide hand sanitizer before entry. Hand sanitizer was available throughout the entire hotel (elevators, front entrance and dining tables at the restaurant). If you need Covid testing, there is a laboratory within walking distance just across the street or you can go to another laboratory near the McDonalds (10 minute walk). Everything was truly excellent, beyond my expectations. I wish I could...
