This "hotel" is not close to the centrum of Marrakech but in walking distance by 20 min. Its clean and there is someone in the reception 24/7 but nothing more. Room is poor, small and filled with furniture. Beds are very hard and covered in plastic. You are not allowed to bring anything up to the room like water, food biscuits you've purchased outside. We asked for help in the reception, they gave us a map, then they wanted us to leave. We had stayed there for 3 days, and quite satisfied with the basic stay, and then they were so rude to us! It was our last day and we were going to leave in the afternoon, asked if we could use the pool one last time before travel home, the receptionist said "No, its impossible" and stopped us. We had just paid for our visit - then they wanted 70dhm per person for us to take a swim ! They seems very happy when you give them money but otherwise very rude and you don't feel welcome. I will never stay here again, and if you are thinking of staying here - Its very cheap hostel like a 1 star hostel, pool is dirty and the staff like I described is nice to you as long as you pay them. I don´t recommend...
Read moreThe four of us, two couples, spent two night at the Riad. The entire space is unforgettable, charming, unique and amazingly friendly. Out of 12 days in Morocco I personally found the village, the suk, the Médina and the Riad the most pleasant experience and environment there. The building is perfectly situated, the rooms are spacious, well appointed, clean, and welcoming. The stuff is very forgiving and helpful. Yes, we ended up changing room several times, but it was only out of convenience, and still the hotel manager was an epiphany of politeness and charm. He needed up carrying our suitcases himself, voluntarily, as I was busy on a conference call! The food was very, very tasty, plentiful and very sensitive price wise. I need up taking dozens of photos of the place, such charming it was. Be sure to go up to the roof terrace for the views and climate. Thank you. A side tip - take a trek to the mountains - we hired a local guide, and ended up rather unexpectedly in the fields of Marihuana, which was a hilarious experience . The Blue Town is simply...
Read moreWe stayed in Hotel Hicham for one night last month. We were on the top floor and used the lift to come down for breakfast. The lift started going up and down, up and down uncontrollably. It then suddenly stopped abruptly and all the lights went out. It's a tiny lift and must have been about 40 degrees C with a lack of air in there. We hammered on the door and shouted our for help. No-one came. There was no alarm bell. Luckily, my friend had his mobile but at first we couldn't get a signal. After about 15 minutes stuck in there, we were able to phone for help. When we informed reception about what had happened Fatiha just scoffed at us and said it was just a little problem and NOT important! No apology! Apparently, the lift had been faulty the night before. However, there were no signs to say it was out of use! We were never at all worried about using lifts before but we are now, it was pretty scary with the lack of air. We were disgusted with the attitude of the...
