I could taste the liquor immediately and asked the server to check, when the bartender confirmed that it was a regular cocktail I was given. I received an apology from the server and an offer to have the drink remade without alcohol, which I declined (I will truthfully probably never have a mocktail again).
I typically hesitate to order mocktails in fear of this exact situation but I have visited Marrakesh and this restaurant once before (and enjoyed a mocktail then after clarifying with my server that I cannot have alcohol) and with Morocco having a large Muslim population, I figured it would be okay. Perhaps it was partially my responsibility to have specified again that I cannot have alcohol, but like I said, I did specify and confirm that I was ordering a mocktail.
