I am giving them a one star because of being scammed by hotel receptionist. It ducks because the breakfast was good and the rest of the staff were good and helpful. I booked us at this hotel because it was in Gueliz which is supposed to a better neighborhood than the hood (Medina). I have been to marrakech many times and have stayed in various places but this one I have to leave a review because I want to save others the headache and the trouble. First of all, the place did not look like in the pictures. Hats off to the photographer because I got duped into staying there. The breakfast was good the first day, then on the second day, they added water to the orange juice from regular tap water. I got sick right after. The staff here were all good except for the hotel receptionist. Specially stay away from Azeez. He sold us a scam tour, over charged us and told us he would only take cash for reservation. That should have been my first red flag. The receipt says Atlas Marba Tours, the worst company in marrakech you can get a tour with. Our tour was for agafay which included atv quad for 2 hrs, camel ride for 30 min and then dinner with entertainment. The driver was supposed to pick us up at 3 pm and drop back off at the hotel by 845 pm. None of that happened. What's worst is azeez was not even there the next day when our tour was nor did he do the proper steps to get us booked for our tour. But he was quick to take the money ofcourse. The next day we waited for our tour, no one came for 30 min...upon inquiry, a guy showed up took other people at the lobby but denied us saying that we were not his party. So then we went to the hotel receptionist to inquire what's going ok, why our driver hadn't showed up yet. They pretended confused. Furthermore, when i asked questions in english the receptionist guy responded in his own language at which point i had lost it. I told him to speak to me in english and he just ignored me completely. None of them could speak English which is very bad when situations like this happens. Then after an hr, a random guy showed up to take us to the tour. There were other people in the bus and upon talking to them.. they all had paid different amounts ranging from 30 to 50 and we paid 80 dollars. Such a ripoff. Then the driver did not even take us to Agafay. We ended up going to the outskirts of Marrakech. Upon returning back to the hotel, the driver told us he was instructed to take the blame on himself to protect the company. Never never ever book with Atlas Marba Tours. Not to mention, be very careful if you are getting a tour from the hotel staff. They might be in it for the money and could care less of your experience. Lots of horror stories and ripoff left and right. You are better off individually walking to an established excursion tour place in jmal Fina or an actual well reviewed online platform such as get my guide. The next day while checking out the receptionist was still continuing to give me attitude as if it was my fault. Very disorganized and scammed. I felt a waste of 2 days at marrakech. Usually I stay in Riads at jmal Fina. I made a mistake going to a hotel this time. Never...

Room was so unclean, dusty, very old beds that make noises, smell of cigaret. Breakfast was so boring, the same breakfast everyday, there was no protein other than boiled egg or scrambled egg. The coffee tastes like water.
All the stuff were kind and lovely but not the guy who works night shift.
1st day A stuff had showed us our room and when we entered the room wasn’t cleaned at all. We all could see how dirty the bathroom was with hair and dust and all. We went to the reception again and changed the room. The room was had a double bed even though we booked a room with 2 single beds. The room stunk of cigarate (it had no smoking sticker on the table and we had ordered a room with no smoking). The room missed balcony and again even though we booked a room with balcony. We had to sleep there because it was late to change room…
2nd night Someone called to the phone in the hotel room. Just think you are in a foreign country on your second nights and someone calls to your room at 2 am at night??? We woke up scared and didn’t answer but it called again. We answered it was the stuff who works night shifts. He called us because the girls in room next to us talking loudly on the balcony and got complain. They just random picked our room and called and woke us up. We told the reception that it wasn’t us and gave the right room number. The girls didn’t stop talking and we couldn’t sleep anymore. We had to go to the reception tell about that. The stuff lied about calling us and said it was someone else??? The should have sent a security or something to see the situation not hust pick a random room and call them at 2am at night.
Every night we were hearing loud noises, neighbours walking in heels, child crying outside, we could everything that happened outside.
Last day at this hotel I asked the reception to help me print out our boarding passes and he said he could help us and wanted me comeback later when I leave so that he would prepare it for us.
We went to the reception when we checkout and asked for the boarding passes. The stuff who works nights shift was there and our boarding passes weren’t ready. But he said i print it out now but it may be little. I asked him if I could bigger picture just in case the small ones don’t work at the airport. He said I usually don’t print at night, it’s only me here and I need to print documents, I need papper, who else goes to the store if it finishes etc. It was just 2 boarding passes 2 piece of pappers. I didn’t say thank you for that and he got angry went out and talked woth another stuff/local and was screaming something in local langauge boarding pass etc….
Our experience at this hotel was...
Read moreStaff are absolutely neanderthals.. We arrived at the hotel at 13:50 and we wanted to check in, but there was this fat young girl that was speaking on the phone with her boyfriend just said “you can check in at 14:00.. that’s alright, but when 14:10 passed she didn’t say anything.. she was still talking on the phone. We went to her and told her we want to go in the room to clean up and relax, she gave us papers to fill up our information and it was all in Morrocan so we didn’t understand anything. Somehow we managed and she gave us a key with number 33 (the first 3 was unreadable and we thought it’s 23 because she couldn’t pronounce 33 properly) and “explained how to get to our room which was like going into a labyrinth. We roamed here and there until found the room and we tried to unlock the door but the keylocker was damaged we you must not put the whole key, have to leave it a bit off to be able to unlock and open it.. we saw one guy who helped us and we finally went into the room 30 minutes later… in our room every wall was stained with mold, the whole room was full of bugs, air con smelled like camel urine, windows cannot be closed at all and you can hear crazy Morrocans shouting whole night, toilets smell bed, sheets and towels stained and smell worse and as well there was another door inside our room in which you can go to the neighbours room 😁 .. However, the breakfast was a shock for us because they keep their leftovers vegetables from previous breakfasts.. Location: far away from airport, Medina and every nice place or monument you want to see in Marrakech..
I liked the mint tea only from the whole experience in this dump. Definitely won’t...
