Hôtel Amalay — Hotel in Marrakesh Prefecture

The hotel is a short walk from the nearest airport shuttle stop, arriving at the hotel over 2 hours into check-in time however my room wasn’t ready for me to go in upon arrival. I did wait approx. 10 minutes for the housekeeper to finish up which I didn’t mind waiting for the room to be cleaned.||The room and hotel is very budget including a double bed with air conditioning, en suite, and small balcony looking over the road and traffic below. The room is relatively small but still enough for a solo traveler.||The shower was in poor hygienic condition and had black sticky grout in between the tiles, making me not feel totally clean afterward. I believe this could be easily clean as the normal water pressure of the shower head was flaking away the grout when pointed closely at it.||The hotel has quite an old aesthetic with stairways being poorly lit and dim. This rating is about the restaurant inside the hotel. We just saw it accidentally by walking by but we liked it so and we had there 3 evenings our dinner. The outside area of the restaurant looks very nice. Kind how we would expect over here in europe. With cutler, glass etc. In Marrakech at midday you're not supposed to eat but restaurant amalay offers food from 12am-11pm. Even me as a vegan I found dishes which were suitable for me. The waiter was very nice and he spoke very good english. The dishes itself tested very good. There wasn't much time to wait for it. The portions are huge and taste very delicious. You can get typical maroc food as well your pasta. The prise was absolutely fine, I would say probably too low for this big portions. I can recommend everyone...

I and my husband went to the hotel to have dinner at night. As a tourist , it was such a mood spoiler. The plates in which we were being served were so dirty. I ordered a chicken taco but ended up having a beef one - up in complaining the waiter said that they didn’t have chicken so they made beef without even bothering to ask. The fries they served us smelled so bad as if the oil in them was over used. The chicken Tajine my husband ordered was not tender and properly cooked. There was no waiter nearby for attendance and we had to wait at their main reception desk for so long to ask them for something. IT IS A BIG BIG NO ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A TOURIST AND YOU DO NOT WANT TO WASTE AND SPOIL YOUR MOOD...
