Anchor Point Restaurant — Restaurant in Erongo Region

I had a good & bad experience at this restaurant. The waiter was friendly, the food came quicker, food was good but not extraordinary. Unfortunately, when I was about to leave and as I was standing up to go get my bill & pay at the counter, a gentleman who wasn't a waiter (maybe a manager) and who's been standing near the counter came near my table and asked in his words " Are you running away? " I asked why I would run away as I make my way to the counter. He then said it is another way of asking if someone is leaving. I told him there is not such a thing, and he said "I don't have a good sense of humour". I didn't pay him any attention coz I was on my phone, talking to people who matter. I paid and left. I am definitely never going back to this restaurant. And to that gentleman: it is 2022, unlearn & learn......

Went early January for dinner. They had about three tables when we arrived and one other table by the time our food arrived - it took over 40 minutes to arrive, which is a shame because the starters were lovely.

In that time, no one came back to check on us or top up our drinks, instead they pointedly prepared surrounding tables for the following day's breakfast and chatted by the kitchen.

The waitress got my order wrong, responded "oh", no apology and no alternative offered. I asked for the side dish from the main I'd actually ordered and she tried to charge me extra because of the mountain of potatoes on my plate (that i didn't order)... which I removed with alacrity.

Horrific experience. Almost ruined my birthday if I hadn't received such excellent service from everywhere else...

Fabulous location, right on the beach, great friendly (and accommodating) staff. Finn & I are celiac (gluten free), and they were able to create delicious meals for every occasion. Julitha the chef went to great efforts to ensure the food was gluten free! Ottis at the bar, Jody the manager, and all the waiting staff (Martha, Ruuusa, Lovis, Johanna, Helena, Else & Honey) are lovely and engaging (but not intrusive).

We ended up booking to come back here at the end of our trip and have eaten every meal here! Breakfast is included if you stay at the beach hotel, overall very reasonably priced!
