Hotel is in walking distance to the airport, for foreign (e.g. western countries) tourists i would recommand to go to thamel. Hotel itself was low to mediocre for the price (~ 17 USD). Room was all in all clean, had a AC and a balcony was included, but the bed was completely saggy. For the hotel itself i would give 2-3 stars. The restaurant was mediocre for the price, food was ok we ate worse but definitely better. Tea and coffee was already sweetened and undrinkable for us. Worst thing was the staff at the reception was terrible. First one was completely unfriendly and it seemed he didnt like us from the beginning and the second one seemed not to understand a single thing. We asked for a taxi for the next morning and were promised several times it will be there. On the next morning no taxi but the sleeping receptionist and he didnt really care. Luckily the normal staff was quite kind and tried to help (from the beginning), so instead of the receptionist the other guy ordered us a taxi. I dont mind a little dirt or old hotels with some broken things or where the staff does not speak english especially when you consider the price, but after many years staying in similar hotels, this was one of the first times where i got the feeling not to be welcomed. I wouldnt recommand this hotel, at least not for...

The rooms are good, but what's the use of good rooms when there is no honesty with regards to pricing. Absolutely NO ETHICS, forget good quality customer service.
While checking in, we were very clearly told that price is in Nepalese rupee, and while checking out, the manager took advantage as he saw us in a hurry because of a flight back home, and created unnecessary ruckus by asking us for the discussed amount in Indian Rupee (much more in value). He didn't flinch despite a 20 minutes of heated discussion and ultimately we ended up paying 1.6 times the initial price.
And not just that, we could barely catch our flight because of this drama. NO EMPATHY for foreign nationals. DISGUSTING !
Because of this, our otherwise awesome trip ended on a sour,...
