My fiancĂ© and I went to the lounge to relax and get away from the stressful airport atmosphere in order to prepare for our flight . All we wanted was just to relax a bit , have some food as we havenât eaten yet and just calm down. At the entry of the lounge weâve been told , that we are expected to pay 23 USD , which is perfectly fine and normal for a lounge access with en-place service . The food was good and the staff attentive. The variety of fresh fruits and the selection of desi and western cuisine is very good and the taste authentic. We liked especially the pasta Alfredo.
Now comes the part shock really destroyed our travel experience and which is unacceptable in a so called executive lounge , owned by crowne plaza:
The lady which was to collect the payment from us first had some issues with my international credit card , which can happen and which is perfectly fine. When she finally managed to get her colleague for help with another card payment machine , I got the notification that instead of 6129 Nepali rupees 61129 were deducted from my credit card . After this realisation I obviously freaked out a bit in panic and immediately informed the staff. The lady kept on calling her manager and tried calming the down that the payment will be voided ( which is overall fine , as this means the money wonât be deducted) ~ the problem now is , that she apparently doesnât understand that this money will be blocked for several days on the credit card , till the amount will be ready to be used again. I kept on telling her that the void does not have an immediate effect and that this is extremely critical , but she kept telling me the transaction has been voided . I understood that from the lounges side it has been voided , but the immediate effect does not work for the credit card company. She kept insisting to make us pay again , and even went as far as asking my fiancĂ© to get escorted beyond immigration to get money to pay her . This whole tantrum of hers went for over an hour , as we kept explaining her that his cards do not work for transactions within Nepal and that I cannot use my card anymore as I have important transactions to be made on this card ( my tuition fee , etc ) so tie money shouldnât be blocked ( not more than it already is , due to her overcharging us) . She kept insisting , literally harassing us to make a payment and wouldnât let us leave , even though our flight was already announced on the board that we have to leave for security . Eventually I have given in and made another payment with my credit card , as i was obviously willing to pay , but not almost 500 USD ! Overall the experience was extremely ruined and there was absolutely no apology or gesture of kindness , for example just waiving the fees for such an inconvenience as you would expect in such a situation. I found it extremely ridiculous to keep harassing somebody , despite charging them 10 times the amount. The manager eventually showed up and also didnât have much to say to the situation and wasnât very professional either. When youâre looking for a high class treatment , where customer experience and service is importantly , then donât consider this lounge . Unfortunately our stay at Kathmandu airport has been...

There are two #airportlaunge. One on the ground floor and the other on the first floor.
Disability access issue: đWhile the ground floor is easy to access, there are no lifts to tje firdt floor, making it an issue for disabled.
Flood choices:đđđ Considering Nepali hospitality, one would hope for choices of food. Well, its basic Nd limited!
For paied customers: $$$ it would cost you 23 USD per person for non alcoholic package and usd 40 for those who would like to take alcohol. đ if you ask me, never a good idea to get drunk at the airport. đ€Łđ
Comparing it to rest of the đ : the launge is basic yet way better then the ones i have been to in Africa (morocco, Gabon, Kenya). However, it is not at par with Middle eastern airports (qatar dubai) or in europe for eg...
