Hotel Heranya — Hotel in Kathmandu Metropolitan City

Heranya Hotel’s best asset is their staff. They are super polite, happy to see their guests every day and very accommodating. It changes your day when you see their smiles and this is the best thing about the hotel. The location is very good, slightly hidden away from all the traffic, but it does not guarantee a quiet night’s sleep. If you have a choice, go for the rooms facing the front, as these that face the Shanker hotel can be a little noisy. There is a little pathway just outside which means you get woken up around 6 am every day but workers and their loud conversations among other things. ||||The rooms themselves are fine - a comfortable bed and a wardrobe with a small sitting area and a chair. There is AC, a kettle and daily supply of tea and coffee, bottled water and fruit (apples and bananas). The AC did not really provide adequate warmth, but maybe I did not know how to use the settings. It can get quite chilly at night. As the hotel is powered by solar panels, hot water was not guaranteed, i.e. not always in the evening and from about 7.15 in the morning. Daily cleaning means you arrive in a fresh room every day.||||Breakfast is served from 7 am, after a month however one gets a bit tired of the same thing, which is normal for everywhere we go - a choice of eggs, beans, toast and jam. There is wide selection for lunch and dinner, prices and reasonable and food is good.||||The only problem I had, was poor noise insulation - I could hear noise neighbours next door - this did not guarantee a good night’s sleep, which is all one wants after a day’s work. It would be nice if there was some kind of notice for guest to respect the night time, i.e between 10pm-6am please respect others and be quiet. ||||The hotel organises airport pick ups and drops off if you need one. I had beautiful stay at this hotel during the month of October 2024, I stayed for a week. I think it deserves more than 5 stars. Since I was traveling solo, so I wanted to something quiet and safe place to stay within my economy budget and found this oasis in the hustling city of Kathmandu. I would highly recommend this place to anybody traveling solo or with your friends or partners or maybe family as well. All the staffs were very friendly including janitor lady, rooms were clean and housekeeping was on time. My personal belongings were safe and breakfast and dinner served was really fresh and great. I will stay here again if I travel to Nepal in future.
