Hotel Narayana in Kathmandu consistently receives praise for its unbeatable location, directly opposite the revered Pashupatinath Temple. This prime position makes it an ideal choice for pilgrims and tourists eager to explore the spiritual heart of Kathmandu, with Tribhuvan International Airport also conveniently close by.Guests frequently highlight the politeness and helpfulness of the staff, often citing their cooperative demeanor as a major plus. The hotel offers an in-house restaurant with vegetarian options, which many guests appreciate, and complimentary Wi-Fi is available. The delicate wood carvings in the lobby and reception showcase traditional Nepalese art, adding to the local charm.the rooms can be on the smaller side, and cleanliness, particularly concerning linens and bathrooms, has been a recurring concern. While the food is generally well-regarded, restaurant service can sometimes be slow. Additionally, issues with Wi-Fi connectivity and inconsistent amenities like hot water and TV functionality have been reported. In summary, Hotel Narayana is a solid choice for those prioritizing proximity to Pashupatinath Temple and friendly service. While it may lack some of the polish and consistent upkeep of higher-end hotels, its location and welcoming staff often compensate for its minor shortcomings, particularly for budget-conscious travelers focused on their pilgrimage or cultural exploration.

Rooms were just okay — nothing special, and definitely not worth the price. The bathrooms were a bit dirty, and hygiene clearly wasn’t a priority. But the worst part was checking in and finding there was no water at all in the washroom. After a long journey, that’s the last thing anyone wants to deal with. When I called the reception to report the issue, I expected at least a basic level of courtesy. Instead, the staff responded in a very rude and dismissive tone, saying, “Just open the tap and water will come.” As if I hadn’t already tried that. It was not only unhelpful, but also disrespectful. There was no apology, no effort to check the issue, and no proper solution offered. It genuinely felt like I was paying to be treated poorly. This kind of attitude reflects a complete lack of hospitality and customer care. Unfortunately, during my stay in Nepal, I noticed this kind of behavior is not uncommon in many hotels — where basic service and respectful communication are missing, regardless of the price you pay. It’s disappointing and frustrating, especially for travelers who expect even a minimum standard of service. Definitely not recommending this hotel — or any place that treats guests like a burden rather than customers.

I am writing to complain about the unacceptable conditions and service during my recent stay at Hotel Narayana, Gaushala, Kathmandu, with my family (4 adults, 2 children). Our room (103 & 106) both was infested with bedbugs, causing severe bites to my entire family including kids. Despite reporting the issue at 1:03 AM, staff were unhelpful at first. Only after repeated requests did the receptionist confirm the infestation and move us to another room — which was also unhygienic. We were shifted again to a third room. At checkout, instead of a proper apology, staff offered a token NPR 300 discount, which is insulting given the distress caused. My calls to the owner, Mr. Anil Agrawal, went unanswered. I did not go to Kathmandu to bargain over discounts but to enjoy quality time — this experience was deeply disappointing and harmful. I have video evidence of the bedbugs and will share it publicly. I expect an appropriate response and corrective action. Thank you.

We booked our Nepal trip through them A unexpected wonderful stay beyond our expectation. The whole credit goes to Mr. Sunil and his family. They made us feeling very very homely. We did not miss our home. Timely food, timely advice for our trip whenever we could not fly due to weather conditions. And stay at Pokhra was very very enjoyable. The service at both the places highly laudable. Whenever we need something, Mr. Sunil was always available. The food they offered was very very tasty. The Gesture Mr. Sunil showed we never forget. When we waited for a long period for flight for Pokhra due to weather conditions, all the elders in our group who were diabetic wanted to take food, I called Mr. Sunil, he within half-an-hour, delivered us hot hot paranthans inside the Airport. Like many incidents he was helping us through out our journey. Rooms in the hotels are are very very clean and nice. The vehicle provided for the whole trip was wonderful and very very convenient for all age group. ||And the drivers were also so accommodative. The excellent part of the hotel are it is highly economical and it is located nearby Airport, just 300 meters away from Pasupatinath. We give a very high appreciation for this hotel and Sunil...
