☹️:Not so much. The few things I can think of is that it's hard to charge your phone at night, because the power points in the dorm beds are a bit inconveniently placed. The hot shower doesn't always work, bathrooms are a bit small, and the WiFi often is quite poor. The hostel is situated 15mins outside of Thamel, which I didn't mind so much because you could get out of the crowd. The disadvantage is that you have to walk quite far every time you plan on doing something in the city. Nice workout though.
The only thing that was genuinely annoying was was the music in the morning. There is a gym/aerobics/social activity every morning where a lot of Nepali people join and do some gymnastics across the street. They use very loud local music in doing so, which results in you waking up at 6AM to some Bollywood tunes. After two night you can sleep through the noise though!
All this didn't bother me so much, as the happy vibes easily make up for it!
🙂: Everything else:) The staff is amazing, shoutout to Muskan - who always brings you hot drinks - and Sabrina - who never ceases to be interested in your programme for the day, and is glad to give you some recommendations!! I returned twice after small trips to the countryside, felt like coming home. There is an amazing atmosphere in the entire hostel. From jamming with a bonfire late at night, to works of art everywhere you look, to a rooftop terrace with an AMAZING view (where you can do laundry too) to a wonderfully cozy XMAS and New Year's dinners. You can always ask for some tea/coffee, you'll definitely be able to chill out.
Some other useful features: shoe stand outside of the dorm, curtains at the dorm beds (!), lots of effort in recycling, countless bathrooms, clothes swap box, big lockers (although you can't use your own lock), facilities to do your laundry by hand at the rooftop, which is quite fun actually, and there's a hammock there too!
Altogether a wonderful place, and definitely worth checking out! Prices...
Read moreFirst we stayed over 2 nights and we loved it so much that we decided to come back each time we would have to come back to Kathmandu.||||Why? Because the hostel in itself is really nice, with a great rooftop dominating the city and a well-decorated courtyard and "fun room" for some nice quiet or socializing time. Our room was great, with beautiful paintings made by previous visitors. Also because the team, especially Manish the owner and Sabrina the manager, are always eager to make your stay better. They gave us some very valuable tips and information and are up for some evening sessions in city center. ||||I definitely recommend this place as I would go back again without any hesitation. ||||Well done guys...
Read moreVery welcoming people in My friend’s hostel. Manish and people working there were very kind, and asking to join their plans. They get the call back when you try to talk to them. They want to assure you are okay in the city, very helpful and you can ask them everything, they try their best. Cozy hostel with amazing art paintings in the walls, very cool vibes. They kept our backpacks for free during 5 days of trekking and we are very grateful to them. You can have breakfast there, refill your bottle with filtered water and there is hot water too. It was not in Thamel, but 20minutes walking were enough to be there. At 10pm the bar is not working, so better to know it just in case you want to have...
