Recently discovered an amazing Newari restaurant just outside of the Thamel area. My girlfriend and I talked to a lady from Bandipur and recommended this place for us for Newari food.
When we arrived at the place it was quite busy. There are many seating areas to choose from and it has a very traditional/relaxing atmosphere. The menu is also in Nepali, no English. So if you go ask the waiter for recommendations

The aloo tamu stands out with its unique taste and is definitely a must-try.
The only letdown today was the fokso—normally it’s crisp and flavorful, but this time it was a bit soggy. Hopefully just a one-off.
All in all, Harati is a must-visit spot for Newari food lovers. Bonus: the prices are very affordable, which makes the experience...
