OUTSTANDING MBC Trek!
When it came to choosing a trekking company, I had many options. However, I began communicating with Everest Trekking Routes Pte Ltd via Rabin Gurung, initially to inquire about the trip and discuss possible customizations to the standard itinerary. To my surprise, Rabin was prompt, accommodating, patience, and thoroughly responsive. This back-and-forth continued over the span of two to three months, and his persistence and consistency left a strong impression. Meeting him in Kathmandu confirmed my confidence; he is genuinely committed, caring and responsible.
Upon our arrival in Pokhara, we were introduced to my guide, Phul Gurung, whose professionalism and respect for client comfort and safety were evident from the start. Phul speaks good English, and we connected easily. He maintained a perfect balance, giving us space while always being attentive to our needs—a true testament to his understanding of client care. I would choose him again as my guide without hesitation, which speaks volumes about the trust he inspires. Our porter, Hau Re, did not speak English, but thanks to Phul and Jenisha, a young trainee guide who joined us, language was never a barrier. Hau Re’s strength and dedication were invaluable, especially when my son experienced discomfort at the 4500m basecamp. At Phul’s direction, Hau Re shouldered him back to the rest camp, a gesture for which I am deeply grateful, as I couldn’t imagine my son managing the additional two-hour descent.
The trek to Machapuchare Base Camp (MBC) was breathtaking, with each day offering incredible highlights from Kande to MBC and back to Jhinu, Nayapul, and finally, Pokhara. Phul’s knowledge of the terrain, distances, lodges, and scenic viewpoints enriched the experience, bringing out the majesty of the landscape in ways I could never have anticipated. Though challenging, our journey was filled with unforgettable moments and stunning vistas that will stay with us forever. The camaraderie with our guide, porter, and young trainee guide made the trek not only safe but also exceptionally warm and memorable.
For other travelers, it’s worth noting a few points to enhance the experience. First, transportation is arranged separately with service providers, as the company does not own its own vehicles—something to consider in terms of timing and coordination. Additionally, the quality of lodges varies in the mountains, so it helps to set flexible expectations. We specifically requested certain lodge standards for some nights and were delighted by the accommodations provided. One lodge that stood out was the Himal Pani Guest House, an unexpected gem nestled in a remote, secluded spot. The family running this lodge made us feel completely at home, offering a warm and restful sanctuary.
This brings me back to Phul’s attentiveness; he truly understood our preferences and found ways to turn our spontaneous ideas into reality. My sincere gratitude goes to the entire team for making the MBC trek such a remarkable adventure. It was more than just a journey; it was a genuinely...
Read moreI recently completed the Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) trek, and while it was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life, it certainly didn’t start off as planned! I had only two days to prepare before flying to Nepal, which meant I wasn’t physically prepared, had no trekking gear like poles, and wasn’t able to arrange necessary medicines. As a result, I ended up falling ill with sickness and diarrhea during the trek. Luckily, my guide, Aita, was absolutely incredible. From the very beginning, Aita was supportive, patient, and knowledgeable. He helped me manage my sickness with the right advice and ensured that I kept moving forward at a comfortable pace. His constant encouragement, coupled with his understanding of the trek’s challenges, gave me the strength to continue despite my physical discomfort. The journey to Annapurna Base Camp is tough, and I struggled at times with the altitude and my illness, but Aita made sure to adjust the pace, allowing me to recover and catch my breath. He was always checking in on me, ensuring I had enough rest and hydration. His knowledge of the area, the culture, and the trek itself helped me feel at ease during those difficult moments. Despite my lack of preparation, I was blown away by the breathtaking scenery along the way. The majestic views of the Annapurna range, the lush forests, and the towering peaks were absolutely worth every challenge. Reaching Base Camp itself was surreal—standing at the foot of Annapurna, surrounded by snow-capped peaks, was something I will never forget. The trek was definitely tough, especially without proper preparation, but with Aita’s expertise and unwavering support, I made it to the Base Camp. If you're planning this trek, I recommend taking the time to properly prepare, but even if you’re like me and find yourself unprepared, having a guide like Aita can make all the difference. His assistance was invaluable, and I’m so grateful for his help in making this journey possible. Would I recommend the Annapurna Base Camp trek? Absolutely. It’s a challenge, but with the right guide and mindset, it’s an adventure...
Read moreI had a wonderful experience on this trip, thanks to the excellent service and support provided by Rabin and his team. From the start, Rabin was very prompt in answering all my questions and helped me prepare thoroughly. Everything was well organized — from transportation to accommodations — making the entire journey smooth and stress-free.
When I mentioned wanting to visit Pokhara before returning to Kathmandu, Rabin took care of all the necessary arrangements without any hassle on my end. As a solo traveler, I felt very safe and well looked after. During an unexpected delay before the trek began, Rabin even took the time to show me around Kathmandu, which I truly appreciated. His constant care and support made the trip far more enjoyable than I could have imagined. I highly recommend his services to anyone considering a trek in Nepal.
Regarding the trek itself, my guide Aita was incredibly strong, capable, and ensured I reached each destination safely. If you’re looking to complete your trek at a faster pace, I would definitely recommend Aita — we finished our trek in 10 days instead of the originally planned 12! However, if you prefer a slower pace to take in the scenery, it’s a good idea to communicate that with him early on, as he naturally moves quite quickly.
While Aita’s English is still developing, he makes a strong effort to improve and is very hardworking. Thanks to his close relationship with tea house owners, he was able to arrange complimentary hot showers, Wi-Fi access, and clean water during our stay — all of which made a big difference in comfort throughout the trek.
Overall, I’m very happy with the experience and grateful for both Rabin’s planning and Aita’s guidance...
