Econo Lodge Canterbury Court — Hotel in Christchurch

Canterbury court motel I had the misfortune of staying 2 nights in this motel It is the worse motel I have ever stayed in on arrival after a rude phone call telling me room number I arrival at site that looks like a abandon property grass up to knees weeds peeling paint. I open room door to be greated by the stench of dry rot and old cigarette smoke.i go to the kitchen, there is hole in wall jug cord is taped together. The window frame is rotten the bathroom shower is dirty grimy the vanity is falling apart, widow frame is rotten toilet wall is rotten only towel rail is in bedroom not bathroom I sit on bed pillow falls down behind bed I almost touch live electrical wires as plug is not attached to wall, in kitchen Wi-Fi band extender cord runs across stove top would melt if i used cook top.I walk around outside puddle on concrete with strong stench human urine The property felt dirty dodgy and not safe or clean. I have made a complaint to choice hotels who are the owners but they have not even bothered to reply DON'T STAY IN THIS HORRIBLE PLACE!!! this property has serious health safety concerns i have contacted worksafe regarding ...

I've stayed here a couple of times previously and was booked for March. Then the shooting tragedy happened. ||||At first all seemed well - we talked on the phone and they offered to move my prepaid accommodation to a later date in the circumstances, with me to pay a rate difference (if any). They were to send me an email to confirm this. ||||Email didn't come. A day or two later I changed my flight dates and emailed them with the new details. Hearing nothing back, a month later I emailed again in confusion why there had been no contact/confirmation. The situation and their offer was clear, as was my info to them about my new travel date. ||||It's now almost 3 months from that point and I don't care anymore. ||What started as a goodwill gesture from them which would have kept me coming back, has turned into the reason I'll never go back. ||Unbelievable how businesses can get things so wrong.||||Review would have been one star but at least they made the offer to move my stay. Even though they didn't carry through with it. They have my prepayment from the original date so they aren't out of pocket for that. But they'll have no more revenue from...

The photos on the website are completely misleading. This property is in a terrible state - lawns haven't been mowed in a very long time, gardens are overgrown, carpets are stained and filthy, 3 light fittings in the main bedroom/living, only one with a bulb in, wall heater did not work, smoke alarm beeping as it needed the battery changed, mould on plates in the cupboard, water pressure in shower terrible, no dish cloth or hand towels provided, reception not open at all in the 3 days we were there, no milk provided, states on website and sign that Airpoints are available - they aren't, many of the units are clearly being used for emergency social housing, holes in the spouting right outside the door, so cold the condensation was running down the windows, smelt terrible. I have no preoblem with things being dated as long as they are clean and in working order, many things aboug this property are not. Horrifically over priced for what it actually is compared...
