I went out for dinner with my family while we were out on holiday and were staying near this restaurant and thought we should go and check it out. When we arrived we were given a table very quickly and the table was set up nicely with the menus already on the table. The menus were not very good quality and looked like they were homemade which was a bit disappointing but didn’t bother us too much. The menu was not very extensive either compared to your typical Indian Restaurant but later we would realize that it was a very good compromise.
We ordered the Onion Pakoras for our Starter/Entree dish and waited about 5 to 10 minutes and it was already ready for us to eat. We were one of the only people there so I’m not sure if it’ll take the same time if it’s busier. The Onion Pakoras were very delicious and also came with some Tamarind Sauce which was also very tasty. Once we had finished the waitress came over to our table very fast and took away our dishes.
We waited again for about 5 minutes and the main course was ready and delivered to our table. I ordered the Butter Chicken, and the other people I was with ordered the Chicken Kadhai and the Aloo Gobi, It also came with free rice which is great. I took the first bite of my Butter Chicken and I was absolutely astonished at how delicious it was. I didn’t think I had ever had a Butter Chicken as good as that ever before in my whole life (i’ve had a lot of Butter Chicken). I did not try the other dishes but the other people did say that their food was very tasty as well.
Overall I think this is a excellent Indian Restaurant. The only reason I gave the Atmosphere 4 starts is because the inside wasn’t very cosy but that is also good compromise. If you are an Indian food lover this is a must...
Read moreWe were the only lucky diners this afternoon so had the whole place to ourselves. Service was excellent and our host was very informative about different dietary needs and recommendations. We enjoyed the music which was gave a chill cafe vibe.
We ordered the mixed platter which came with 2 vegetarian/vegan options (2 massive samosas and generous serving of onion pakoras) and 2 meat options (2x chicken tikka pieces and 2x Lamb seekh kebab pieces). They arrived on sizzling plates and the presentation was A+. Daughter demolished the lamb and said the flavour was great. She enjoyed her chicken. The samosas came out piping hot and tasty, and onion pakora was crispy and delicious.
For our mains, my daughter ordered Lamb korma and a butter naan. I had the mushroom masala & garlic roti (both vegan). We both agreed that these were the best takeout Indian meals we'd ever tried - fresh ingredients, a perfect blend of spices and just the right heat for medium.
Daughter had the mango drink which was creamy from the yoghurt it is made with and quite thick which she enjoyed. I had a standard orange juice.
The decor was excellent - new, fresh & inviting. We loved the colorful print on the wall behind the counter which looks like its a shot from one of the colour festivals. The little details like the candle holders little table settings and the cute little mugs were...
Read moreCOCKROACH IN FOOD - We've dined here a few times prior and we've had no problems. Unfortunately tonight, my partner had a small cockroach (which she had bitten into and had spit it out) in her butter chicken. Might be an isolated case, but should never had happened. We left and advised the staff (pretty much the whole restaurant heard my partner say there was a cockroach in her food).
We also ordered fries and butter chicken sauce for my son. It wasn't until after we ordered this item, we were advised that the butter chicken sauce is poured over the fries prior to the meal being served. In this case, we asked if it could be separated so that the butter chicken can come in a small dish, so my son can use as a dipping sauce. I was met with some resistance, saying that it may not be possible (but it's just separating sauce from the fries) and it seemed more difficult for them to do so. The waitress (although was okay with service) blamed this issue on price increases? I could not comprehend what she meant by this. And she mentioned they don't separate the sauce as people waste it. I mean, we pay for the food, and we don't waste food, if anything we would take it away.
Unfortunately not the best night at...
