BurgerFuel Henderson — Restaurant in Henderson-Massey

Endorsements aren’t usually my thing BUT. Actually it’s not really an endorsement; more a #life observation I guess. Well, both :).

So I’m passing the time solo at Burger Fuel Henderson while my Miss 15 dances up a storm training down the road.

The place is buzzing and the manager (I’m guessing) taking my order is fully engaged with our korero. Nice start mate.

Sit down and my food arrives and at the next table - Mum, Dad, son maybe 10 and daughter around 8 are enjoying their burgers and chips. Bro teases sis by nicking a chip - but repays it with interest a moment later, offering her the biggest chip on his plate. A big grin crosses her face and she’s all arms outstretched offering an even bigger hug, which is well accepted. They all laugh with each other. Reminds me of being 10 and the wonder of the world when you’re that old; when Mum and Dad are your safety net and will be around forever and verily, life is but a dream.

One of the staff, Māori rangatahi wanders past and he asks how my meal is - and then, how my family is - not a regular question at a fast food joint and a surprising one when I’m sitting alone, but that’s fine and he’s legit so I go along with it.

Sitting back and watching the crew work and people enjoying their food and respective company, and makes me grateful for the opportunities life has provided me with. In amongst all the buzz of this Henderson night life - always lessons to take onboard. Always faith. Always hope. And always love.

Listen up! Great example of a place putting something right and I leave a happy customer . Girl taking my order punched spud fries instead of kumera fries. I didnt pick this up till I picked up my order. The guy packing my food started going on about they'd have to charge more, he'd have to discuss with his manager. Manager came over and told the cooks to cook me kumera fries. Apologiesed and said it wud be another 5mins. He said he wudnt charge me the extra and gave me the spud fries due to the mix up and wait.

And that is why he is the manager and the guy packing is the packer and the girl running the till is running the till Nothing but praise re the effort to correct the mistake and make me happy. Even if I gave the spud fries away.

This is our local Bugerfuel Always a busy store. Staff always very helpful and bugerfuel is burgerfuel .....

Food was great! But my 1 star rating is purely for the way I was treated tonight. I called to order my food and the girl that answered sounded like she didnt care AT ALL. Her tone of voice was rude and lazy..like she just woke up and "can't be bothered"... I got to the restaurant and was standing there and she looked at me and continued doing what she was doing..another guy greeted me nicely and said he wont be long (I understand it was semi busy). A few minutes later SHE came to the counter and said "YEAP" and I said I'm picking up my order..and with the same LAZY tone "that's 12.50"...no smile at all!

She shouldn't be at the front with that attitude as it doesnt live up to the BURGERFUEL ENERGETIC OUTGOING...
