Ordered over the phone the lady (sorry didn’t get your name) and I had a great rapport and overall great service
I ordered the 3 x Korean hotdogs ones with and without the sausage, pickled radish, kimchi, chips and 2 types of Boneless chicken one being the honey garlic and can’t remember the other sorry.
It is definitely a fun experience when you get to try new food from other places. The chicken was crunchy, yet juicy and definitely good flavours. It will definitely be sticky so I’d suggest getting a glove or using utensils, these aren’t chicken nuggets. The honey garlic chicken is really good but next time whatever the other one was that I ordered, I would go up x1 spice and then that would be perfect! Pay the extra $1 for boneless, don’t be stingy 😝
One thing I must note that if it is your first time trying a Korean hotdog, it’s quite sweet! As in, I think there’s sugar on it and the batter tastes like a donut. The cheese pull just makes me have no regrets that I am lactose intolerant! 😅 The hotdog is also stuck on the stick well, some korean hotdogs aren’t because I guess it’s hard to get stability with the whole melted cheese on a stick thing. They are really quite nice in a different way
This order managed to feed 3 adults (full belly) for lunch and then I took the rest home for my partner (as half a meal) to try so maybe 4 adults, so pretty good value for money!!
I would definitely order from here again and I hope this review encourages you to try...
Read moreSaw Dakjib in passing and thought it looked interesting. Asked a few colleagues and we got takeaway combo meals in several flavours to see how it was.
Generous portions. Delicious food. Friendly and polite staff.
More info on what we had:
Rice dishes come with coleslaw AND some kind of macaroni cheese side. Chip combos are chicken and chips (but a dollar cheaper).
Dakjib fried chicken, is the base/plain flavour. Batter has consistency and flavour of KFC hot wings, but without the heat.
The soy & garlic, and sweet chilli options seem to be the dakjib chicken with different sauces added. I'd say the soy and garlic was the tastiest of the options we tried.
One of us also went for the charcoal chicken. Word of caution, this is very spicy, it made a grown man cry. There's no mention or warning of the spice level on the menu, and my colleague had assumed that "charcoal" meant it had been grilled. Instead it was fried chicken in a hot BBQ sauce. I liked it but it was at my threshold for spice level.
No idea what heat level the hot and spicy or firebird options are as we didn't try them, but they do at least have chilli icons to warn of spice!
All in all we enjoyed the food and it was good value, we may be...
Read moreQuite disappointed with my experience.. Waited for more than half an hour for my order. Turns out, one of the workers gave my order away to people who ordered after me. The people said they didn’t order it but they ate half of it already, she said it was fine and went back in the kitchen. Waited for a while and then went to the girl and asked about my order. She just said yup and went back in the kitchen. Didn’t do anything at all so I waited even more until I talked to the owner. If I didn’t go up to the owners, I would’ve never had gotten my order. Their employee didn’t even stop to think it could’ve been someone else’s order. Chicken is good but...
