Rotorua Motel — Hotel in North Island

The room is spacious and that's all the goodness I can say about the room. The kitchen floor beside the oven had drips of sauce/dip/soup, the fridge had some strand of veg and the shower wall had few strand of hair on it. The WORST was the big heater on the room wall doesn't heat up the room even though the motel said it will take an hour. After 3 hours, the room is still COLD! It is worse than those portable heaters!! The toilet does NOT have heater, so good luck to me to shower in cold for the next 3 nights! I've paid for 4 nights and they are not gonna refund me, so all I can do is brave through all! The receptionist was helpful when I requested for extra heater, but she came bk with an extra blanket. After telling her the heater on the wall doesn't heat up after so many hours, she checked and said the heater system is not spoil, it is like that. And mind you, you will be super cold in the middle of the night even with the wall heater is switch to the highest! I stayed in Aus for 8 years, so winter is not an issue if you have an electric blanket or a portable heater, this mounted wall heater is a piece of junk!!! 😡 DO NOT stay here during winter! It is no difference to sleep...

Wow do not stay here!

Staff member who checked us in (young lady) never said hello or even looked at us once. So unfriendly. Then room was sort of ok until we found dodgy wiring going out the wall to somewhere via two multi boxes. Shower was very average. They appear to have people living there permanently who sat outside their room (next to us) drinking and smoking until mid night. Smoke was coming under the door into our room. To the Owners …. If you need to have permanent people living there to help financially then at least put them in one area with guests in another or at least have some restrictions in place for permanent residents and make sure they are adhered to. Place was just generally run down and dirty. We left after one night (was booked for two) and drove 6 hours home again. Would definitely not...
