Ming & Sing Takeaways — Local services in North Island

First thing I ate yesterday on Christmas Eve was a braised beef soup from Ming & Sing at the Rotorua food court - Was really tasty at first and after an hour I started getting a really sore cramp on my abdominal area to the point where my partner had to take me home and I had to lie me down & hoping it would go away. I just remembered that their noodles was sitting on the counter for how long in room temp. I was expecting it to be a really hot dish - but it was mild so I ended up not finishing it all / I just ate a quarter of it and left. I am now still in bed on Christmas Day bed ridden as I had the most ruthless food poisoning I had in a while. Every time I stand up I just end up vomiting, I'm not just talking slight vomit but power chucking - Sorry too much info but I think this place needs to be reviewed again* Just a friendly reminder on my experience - don't think I could ever eat a mall food court ever again. I have had the chicken & sweet corn soup twice before in the last year as a takeaway for lunch, it was delicious. My family & I dined in the mall, served my soup in a large silver bowl... It was bland this time, not how it tasted previously, I only managed 1/4 of the bowl.. I thought I'd ask for a takeaway bowl... Was told it would cost $1.50 for a large bowl or $1 for a smaller one.. I was gobsmacked & the gentlemen said he must charge as its hard for him to get those bowls... I said if I'd known that I wouldve ordered takeaway as you don't get charged the extra $1.50..that was a first.. No other cafe, restaurant I've asked for container charges you. Won't be back. What a shame as the staff...

The young employees are nice and helpful but the food sucks. Got a large today for $17 and there was barely any meat on my plate. Basically a plate of pasta and sauce. This is not the fault of the employees but the owner. The owner is purposely stingy with the meat. The fact that you cant serve yourself like most smorgasbords makes it even worst. Your not getting what you paid for. Will not eat...
