The friendliness of the hosts in no way compensated for the poor accommodation.||||Pluses||1. Unlimited free wifi 2. Warm 3. Two TVs but hardly a plus AND now it's all downhill.||||Minuses||1. At $149 per night, way overpriced. 2. SHOWER (Day 1) - poor flow; water dwindled and eventually came to a halt. (Day 2) - again poor flow and went cold before the shower was finished: what an annoying way to start your day. The host was informed and seemed surprised but language facility did not enable good one on one communication. (Day 3) - forget it. Incidentally, if you check AnnHeads review of May 2017 you will read of similar problems so nothing much positive has happened in two years. 3. THE BED; talk about "partner disturbance". When either of us moved, it did too; like a trawler in heavy seas. 4. DANGEROUS electrical fitting (bottom one of two in the kitchen.) I turned it off at the wall in order to extricate toast from the toaster and later discovered that it was not off at all so danger of electrocution. The host was informed and she said an electrician would fix it. SO if you are in unit 37, please check it out. 5. FITTINGS - snapped off front window catch (security issue), curtain cord and hairdryer fixtures coming away from the wall. 6. BEDROOM curtain (which concealed the spa) was visibly stained. 7. SPA - too scared to use it. I didn't see how it would fill with enough hot water to use after our experiences with the shower. Still, I don't know much about spas. The neighbours used theirs and for a long time the noise in our unit was deafening as the spa graduallly filled. 8. PARKING - quite tricky diagonal parking and exit the same; you have to get out of your car, slide the gate across , get back in your car drive out, get out of your car, go back etc. etc. 9 COMPENDIUM - no folder of handy information relating to advice, emergency numbers, attractions etc as one sees in...
Read moreThis has been an excellent stay and the staff are amazing. The owners Frank and Monica are wonderful and will do their best to ensure you have a good experience in Rotorua. It was clear to me that they are dedicated in providing the best standard for accommodation and they give a personal level of service which is so hard to come by these days. I have only felt welcome and I don't feel like "just another guest".|The rooms are spacious and while some may say they are outdated, I disagree. The decor and design of the rooms are excellent considering the price. The internet is fast and free. The rooms are fitted with a kitchenette so cooking a meal is easy. This makes it feel like a home away from home. The dinnerware was clean and provided plenty of options such as pans, pots, knives etc.|Reviewers have complained about "thin walls" but this hasn't deprived me of sleep. |Frank and Monica, I thank you for a great stay and your service. You are doing everything right and I can only say good things about...
Read moreI definately will not be staying here again. From the first phone call i found the lady in charge very rude over the phone and also very rude in person. I did not know that the outdoor courtyards were non smoking, and in speaking to the neighbours they were also unaware of this. The futons in the lounge were uncomfortable and we ended up having to take the matress off it and put it on the ground to sleep on. There was only one window in the unit that was a pain. We were told by the manager to keep the noise to a minimum which was hard considering the outdoor courtyards are basically joined together so you can hear every conversation had in those areas. We were fine with the neighbours they were great.
If you are looking for Raggamuffin accommodation this is definately...
