Trip: We (a group of 4 single adults) stayed in room 8 for a single night over a weekend.
Rooms/Beds: There were 2 queen beds and 2 single beds spread across two sleeping areas. The queen beds are made up of two single beds and can likely be split if needed.
The first sleeping area was in the main area of the room, with the main entrance directly across from the foot of the queen bed.
The second sleeping area was a separate room off of the well-appointed kitchen (see below).
The beds were very comfortable, the pillows are very soft (you may want to bring your own).
The entire room appeared to have its carpet recently replaced with very plush, very soft and very comfortable carpet and underlay. It felt very nice after a long evening out to have that underfoot.
A note: there is no air conditioning, fans are provided for summer and wall heaters are provided for the cooler months.
Bathroom: The bathroom is quite compact with a smaller shower (estimated 800w x 900 or 1000d) with an older Nelson manufactured shower mixer. This is a little hard to get the temperature you want, and the nozzle for the shower is of an older style, without the option to be handheld, or height changed.
The water pressure was fantastic and the hot water ran very hot after having time to warm up.
The sink was of a good size in this room and very easy to use.
Amenities: We were greeted by a full-sized chocolate (crunchy) bar on our table upon arrival (lovely touch!!).
Between the bedroom and main room is the kitchen, this had a full-size, brand new fridge freezer, the usual kitchen facilities and a full-size, 4 burner, electric, ring element stove.
There is a makeup nook in the main portion of the room.
Location: Fantastic location, right in the middle of town with plenty of food available immediately outside the gates, or a very short walk down Broadway for further choices. The mall is also extremely close and walking is super easy.
Cleanliness: The entire facility was very, very clean and tidy. The only thing we noticed that was noticed was a bit of wear on some caulking in the shower (I wasn't able to find this though). Some touch ups of paint around the base-board below the tv was really, and just other wear locations, was really the only thing that was otherwise commented on.
Final comments: we were extremely pleased with our stay here and will be coming back. We were all very comfortable, slept very well, and were very happy with the staff's friendly attitudes and demeanour. We enjoyed our stay...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy return flight to Auckland was cancelled, so I had to find accommodation for an extra night at the very last minute - came across this place and grabbed the last room. Manager was friendly on the phone and in person when I arrived, as well as the next morning as I left for the airport. Place was great, enjoyed my stay so much that I plan on staying here again when I'm here for yet another workshop in September this year.
Location is perfect to anyone who likes to walk around and explore the city at night time with a camera like myself. Everything is within walking distance, food - shops - the square - main street terminal.
Would recommend to friends and family...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGood for your dollars. Very central, walked everywhere in a good radius. Was happy to recieve a chocolate treat on arrive, very surprised. The shower, oh my goodness, very good pressure, hot, one of the best I've come across in my stays across the country. Being off the road was great, even better when they closed thr gates after a certain time to keep out any unwanted. I felt safe especially being on my own. I personally take my single memory foam mattress with me when I travel because you don't know what kind of bed you'll get. Their king bed was firm, too firm for me yet comfortable. The two hobs gave me the freedom to cook. Overall, I would most certainly...
