Matakana Motel — Hotel in Rodney

It was our 50th Wedding Anniversary Waitangi Weekend 2021.We needed accomodation for ourselves and 19 others for Saturday,Sunday nights and needed 2 studio and 5 doubles.This was our families 3rd time and have never been disappointed.All the rooms including studios are very spacious,clean and modern as were the outdoor amenities of pool,gym,kids playground and grasses areas.The situation is ideal for access to the village shops,pubs,resteraunts. The office staff were extremely friendly and accomodating even when the threat from the North Shore and Northland clusters ov COVID could have potentially derailed the whole weekend. The Matakana Motel was absolutely stunning! The beds were so comfy, the towels a fresh, the spa bath was absolute heaven, there was even hair conditioner! I felt like I was at home. The staff was so lovely to deal with and very present. We had the best stay! Although it was raining most of the time it was beautiful. Very easy to find, great location since super close to shops and restaurants and the market was so cute and quirky! Booked 3 separate 2 bedroomed units for a small group having a weekend away. Motel is great and lovely hosts. It's incredibly close to everything...perfect location. Good sized rooms with sunny decks we got to enjoy for a late afternoon drink before heading out. Good heating as can be cold in Mid Winter. Our only potentially negative comment would be poor shower room ventilation which leaves you with not being able to use the mirror and water running...
