Hanmer Lake Villas — Hotel in South Island

reading recent reviews, and one in particular that mentions unit 459 where door locks were reported as an issue a year ago, still is not fixed. The light cover in the toilet is exposed, and the stove is broken, it works, but on its own. No dials turned on, yet one of the elements turns on to max on its own, HUGE health and safety risk. We tried visiting their office not 90metres from the villa, no one ever there. Tried raising it via email, but they don't read, let alone respond. For a premium price, you definitely do not get premium accommodation. EDIT: their response saying it was ok pre-inspection, clearly it wasn't if we turned on one element and that one came on too. As for me not phoning you, sorry, I was on holiday didn't really want to be wasting my time. Why don't you respond to emails instead of me having to go to council? (Unit 459) Excellent location close to town centre and the outlook over the lake was great. Overall, a good experience, but some attention needs to be paid to maintenance. Nice beds, comfortable lounge area, air con, modern tv that accepts USB drives or devices and good channel selection. Door locks loose and wobbly and a few floors creak woefully (kitchen, around bathroom etc). The mezzanine bedroom has no ensuite and you have to go downstairs. Also too, in winter, dowstairs is warm, but mezzanine bedroom gets hot as heat rises. Shower ok, but not overly powerful , however this isn't a deal breaker. The combustion heater would be nice in winter. I would go back, but would hope they've kept up general maintenance. Our unit had decent toilet paper too, lol, let's hope this...

Amazing customer service! I have stayed at hanmer villas multiple times with my family and we love it. We had a an issue with being unwell this time and made the decision to postpone our stay until we were all well.
