Hanmer Adventure Centre — Attraction in Canterbury

Had good fun doing some rafting here, but it was much more relaxed than we expected (not for the adrenaline junkies). It ended up being more of a float down a river with the odd small bump. The woman in the booking office was surprisingly unenthusiastic about her job, and ended up accidentally booking us the wrong activity (which was ok as the activity centre fixed this when we arrived). The woman leading the rafting was very enthusiastic and fun, and made the day more enjoyable. When we booked we were told we would get a jet boat ride back to base after rafting, however this was cancelled due to weather. Obviously this isn't their fault, but it would be nice to know in advance if the weather looks a though things may get cancelled (we booked the evening before... Less than 24 hrs from us doing the activity). Make sure you look online to get vouchers for these activities as there are plenty available. If you're after an adrenaline activity, perhaps try the quad biking or bungy... However we intend to go to Queenstown on our next...

Me and my family booked a morning quad bike ride and from the time we turned up until the time we left, we had nothing but the best service and had soo much fun. The guide we had was Peter, I can't say anything about the other guides but Peter was awesome!! He was friendly and had lots of knowledge. I also had my 9 year old son with me and he rode as passenger on Peter's quad with him due to his age but had the best time.my whole family left with the biggest smiles on our faces. From the service to the equipment and the free photos of it all and just the pure fun factor it's a 5 star from me and my family. We would definitely do it again next time we are in...

I had an excellent experience with Ross he dropped me to the start of the St James cycle trail. I was the only person wanting to go that day but that wasn’t a problem. Really enjoyed the trail which gave my a bike an absolute working. Dropped my bike to Ross the next day who did an amazing service on it and got it back to me the same day so that I could carry on exploring the Hanmer bike trails for the rest of the trip. I thought from dropping me to the start of the trail to servicing my bike they offered great value in all aspects and very friendly service. Highly recommend. See...
