If you want to book accommodation that not only has a terrible reception service plus almost zero cleaning services - then look no further!|When you see your dirty rooms and mould laden bathroom it will most certainly force your hand to get out and about every single second you possibly can to explore Queenstown. It's depressing being in these "luxury" rooms.|Like so many other reviews on here first impressions certainly count.|The so called "reception" guys can only be contacted via the old mangled telephone outside the actual reception 5mtrs away. I know that as all 3 times it happened that way. Doors locked all 3 times.|Then when you get someone to come out from a back office (probably playing cards or watching TV) the "staff" walk around at a snails pace with shoulders hunched making you feel like they are doing you, the customer, a big favour.|After pre-booking our stay 6 - 9 months prior you would think they have the room ready right? Wrong!|We arrived 2.10pm (10 mins after check in) and had to wait outside the reception for 20mins+ whilst they suddenly decided to "clean" the room.|Our room was not only tragically cleaned it clearly had been like that for many months by the state of things. |Old dust almost everywhere and felt dirty.|They couldn't even be bothered to load the tiny tray with tea / coffee sachets or sugar etc. Forget having a quick coffee after travelling all day. Those guys have a poker game to play!|The living room furniture - OMG.|You literally could buy better from a 2nd hand Salvos store and have them in far better condition plus matching better too. Just the worst!|Don't get me started on the mouldy bathroom with dead insects splattered on the ceilings and walls - guess why - because they are too tight to install flyscreen's for the guests to be able to vent the room after a shower.|There is honestly too much to list that is 100% WRONG with this place overall.|So please do yourself a proper favour. Check out the honest reviews below and make sure to book your stay somewhere else. Well - you have been warned.|This is not luxury. It's just old, tragic, dated, dirty and like a 3rd rate cheap Air BnB.|Until the staff are moved on I doubt that situation will ever change.|Very lazy and don't care attitude. They will kill the business there.|Oh and Vinod...I implore you NOT to write your usual generic response here as you always do. Clearly you or senior management are not doing anything at all to improve the overall stay at Mantra The Point (Formerly called Breakfree The Point). |You guys do not understand Luxury honestly.|As the saying goes the "fish rots from the...

Staff friendly and polite. HUGE room and huge bed. Mattress very old and saggy but comfortable enough. Kitchen facilities too small but the room was classed as a studio. Freezer was iced over. We had to defrost it to put our bricks in. One filthy teaspoon in drawer that had not been washed. Dusty heater and cords to appliances in bathroom. Mould beginning to take over the bathroom on all four walls and floor. Suggest fixing this ASAP before it gets any worse. FANTASTIC view with table and chairs at the picture windows to enjoy it. My husband gave his rating as a million dollar view A shame that the hedges and plants have been let go wild instead of trimmed lower to allow a better view on ground level. But we did enjoy sitting by the window to eat our breakfasts, despite people occasionally walking past and seeing us in our pajamas. Felt as if we were in a fish bowl, but we didn't mind all that much because of the lovely view. Studio excellent for mildly disabled person like myself because it is at ground level. Driveway access is as scary as hell and difficult when you meet another vehicle, but hey, you can't have everything. Kitchen area needs renovation. Cabinetry is swelling possibly from fridge being defrosted in the past and allowed to leak into cabinet. Fridge old and microwave quite old. Bathroom cabinet also showing age and swelling when you look closely but otherwise bathroom quite ok except for previously mentioned mould. Water pressure excellent and hot water is nice and hot. Good sized hot water system. Slightly confused by heating. The one on the wall in the kitchen had no knobs and did not appear to be operational. The free standing one had dodgy wheels and threatened to fall over but it was so cold at night that we needed it. It did an excellent job at heating the room, however it was dusty and made the room smell like burning dust. Location was good. Close to central Queenstown but not too close. Also not too far from Frankton shopping area which is much better for parking and access than the CBD. Wifi was good and adequate. Overall we enjoyed our stay in this room despite the cleanliness issues and would probably stay again if we could ever afford to come overseas again. I don't think Queenstown is a very good venue for anyone with disabilities due to parking availability and crowds of tourists, many who have no regard for...

Disappointing Stay – Accor Should Be Embarrassed to Have This in Their Portfolio

We recently stayed at Mantra Queenstown for a week as a family of four and, unfortunately, the experience was incredibly underwhelming and disappointing – especially given the $4000 AUD price tag. While the location and views are absolutely stunning, they are the only redeeming features of this property.

The accommodation itself was in poor condition and far below the standard we expect from Accor. The bathrooms were unclean and had visible mould. We also experienced a consistent lack of hot water, which meant our family of four could never all shower comfortably – a basic necessity, especially in winter.

The heating downstairs was completely inadequate, making the bedrooms cold and uncomfortable. To make matters worse, the bedding was unhygienic. While the top sheets appeared clean, the quilts and blankets underneath were clearly unwashed – with visible signs of use, including hair and bodily fluids. Absolutely unacceptable.

There were no cleaning supplies provided for the entire week – not even basic spray or wipes to clean kitchen benches or dining tables. For self-contained accommodation, this is simply not good enough.

The rooms were dusty and poorly maintained. There was thick dust and grime under beds, around furniture, and in the air vents – which clearly hadn’t been cleaned for a long time. We also encountered broken furniture – a bedside table literally fell out of the wall when leaned on – and the kitchen was equipped with cheap, damaged utensils including blunt knives and broken tools.

Overall, this was not the standard of cleanliness, comfort, or care we expect from an Accor property. It felt more like a neglected 3-star motel than a premium offering.

Accor should be embarrassed that Mantra Queenstown is part of their portfolio. We won’t be staying here again and would strongly advise others to reconsider...

Friendly and Helpful staff. These are privately owned units centrally managed by BreakFree. They certainly live upto the expectations. Onsite parking is available near to the allocated unit. Our unit had a garage but I just parked in one of the open parking spots nearest to our unit. The unit we were allocated was a townhouse with living + kitchen upstairs and 3x bedrooms + 2x bathrooms downstairs. All 3 bedrooms had comfy beds and pillows. Master bedroom has an ensuite whereas bedroom 2 and 3 share a bathroom. All rooms including bathroom are spacious. The kitchen was equipped with all the required items including dishwasher. The unit is also equipped with washing machine and a dryer. The balcony from the living room is larger than the one from master bedroom. Both balconies provide an awesome and an unobstructed view of Lake Wakatipu, the Remarkables and Cecile peak. One doesn't even need to go out on the balcony to enjoy these views, just open all the curtains in living room. The living room has large glass windows which gives an awesome view from inside. We absolutely loved our stay at this unit and were v glad we chose BreakFree for our 3 night stay in Queenstown. It's situated in Frankton just a few minutes away from the Queenstown CBD. Don't forget to take advantage of the views from the units as the landscape view constantly changes with the environmental factors. Highly recommend the BreakFree units and we certainly will go back to them on our next visit to Queenstown.

Wouldn’t go back. (Room 21) It was a bit of a let down when we arrived, got asked to leave for half an hour when checking in as our room wasn’t ready for us at 2pm. (Had children with us that needed fed and let out of the car so we said to clean around us, the cleaners didn’t do a very good job) The rooms weren’t properly tidied, mouldy windowsills, damp and dusty surfaces etc. Could definitely use a deep clean and upgrade! Some utensils and pots needed a scrub before using, oven was dirty. Not very child friendly with the stairs to get down to the bedrooms. Said rooms had sound proofing but if you are trying to sleep and someone was in the lounge/kitchen walking around that’s all you could hear. Beautiful view from the lounge and main bedroom of the mountains and the lake.
