$4500 for 6nights :( way overpriced!!!!! No room service no fresh towels or bedding. The whole reason we booked here was heated indoor pool and tvs in the rooms …. However the pool was ice cold and had no cover when I complained they got an old cover and left it on. Only covered half the pool and it was too difficult to roll up should not be the guests job to do a pool cover especially that size ! I burnt my leg in the sauna and it’s so small the heating element it less than 5cm from the seat! Bathroom extractor fans didn’t work in both bathroom! Hair on bath and basin from other guests, tvs are outdated and too small to even look at. Their excuse was the one tv didn’t work at all… mould on building insulation from ceiling all over the place, the bed was so hard I have sore back ! They put mattress topper on the bed because they agreeed their beds are ancient, I requested a refund to stay elsewhere but processing times would take up to 14working days meaning I could not pay for alternative accommodation, ended up having to stay there sadly they refunded 2of the 6nights however I still feel like I way over payed we have stayed in Queenstown previously a few times and this place has by far shocked me and my family pool closes at 5pm nobody in the office after 2.30 pm …. Driveway and parking in shocking , sewage smell from the pipes was horrid feels like I paid for a storage unit to stay in . Also told we had to vacuum and clean the apartment before leaving . So what’s the point in paying for a room a storage unit would have been the same mouldy weeds moss etc...
Read moreSpinnaker Bay "Executive" apartments is far from the idea of an executive apartment. With three flights of narrow stairs which never failed to cause difficulty when changing floor, accompanied by frequent head injuries from the low hanging lamps and minimal headspace from floor to roof, I made good use of my torpedo7 helmet. The advertised sauna was functioning 0/8 days that we stayed, whilst the heated pool only achieved lukewarm status. The chlorine burns heated me more than the pool itself. To be fair, the sauna's maintenance team was present for 2 days blocking access to the small driveway with only a van and a Ute. The receptionist's attitude and answers to simple questions had me constantly questioning how old I really was, or if I actually was paying for the place or just stealing it. As for navigating the driveway and the garage, our car got stuck on the overhanging useless flowerbeds that protruded half a meter onto the 2 meter wide road. When we called multiple services, we learnt that in case of an emergency, the entire complex was inaccessible to firetrucks, police and tow trucks alike. If you're into outdated interior design, microwaves, and dishwashers, this place is for you. The insinkerator getting blocked and overflowing was the highlight of our stay. There was no option of a late checkout which disrupted our entire final day of stay. There was no luggage storage available in the small apartment complex either. Out of all the places we've spent time in Queenstown so far, this was by...
Read moreOverall just a fantastic stay. Cannot fault these apartments.
We booked two apartments, a three bed and two bed.
Parking at the two bed is a little tighter, three bed is grand once you are a decent driver! Three bed has two spaces while the two bed has one space. Remember, it’s on a hill-ish so obviously parking must be “built” to accommodate this (ie be realistic, what you get in return is amazing views and super apartments!).
The apartments are well kitted out, large, super clean, basics provided (salt/pepper, dishwashing tablets, shampoo/conditioner etc). The beds are super comfortable (not too hard, not too soft).
Walk to town is an easy 15/20 mins along a fabulous lake front path. There’s a few steps down but we managed such in winter with two big kids strollers / buggy’s.
Sauna as a nice addition. Pool was great for the kids even if a little cold.
The apartments have ample heating facilities (plug in oil radiators or underfloor heating) given they can get quite cold, but they warm up fast. (NZ housing!!).
Staff were amazing. So helpful, friendly and accommodating.
Overall 10/10 and would stay...
