We stayed in the Suites for two nights. The location is around 2.5 km from the town centre. The hotel provides a free shuttle, but you need to book it at least 30 minutes before the departure. We didn't use it, instead we walked around 3.5 km via the Queenstown walking trail along the picturesque Wakatipu Lake. The room was spacious, luckily we had a nice lake views from our room. The entrance to our room was via a car park which was a little weird. The bathroom was quite new and apart from a black build-up around the tap and around the sink drain, it was quite clean. The towels were snowy white. The room walls were begging for re-painting. There was no air conditioning and it was a little bit hot to sleep. The bed-side tables had obvious traces of water damage. The room was visually clean, apart from the thick layer of dust on everything in the morning. The bedding was white and clean, apart from a black long hair on my bed (my friend and I are short-haired blondies). I can't say for sure how clean were cups/glasses/plates, as the white cups were stained inside. I had to wash all the dishes and cutleries before we could use them. The spa baths on the hotel website photos are only in certain rooms and not available for all guests. There is a sauna in the hotel, but you would need to turn it on yourself for at least half an hour to warm it up. We decided not to use it. The room was serviced next day, but the replenished coffee/tea selection was limited (only black tea was available) as well as the milk supply (15ml x 2 on day one and 15 ml x 4 on the next day). The Reception staff were friendly, they allowed us to leave our bags at reception, as the check-in time was at 2 pm, while we arrived before 11 am. So we went for a walk to the town centre. We received a phone call from Reception around 2 pm, that our room was ready. Same on the check-out day, we left our bags at Reception at around 9 am and collected them in the afternoon before going to the airport. Generally, our stay was not bad, if you are not sensitive to the dust. Hope, next guest in our room would enjoy clean dishes, as we properly washed the dishes and I did...
Read moreThe property itself is nice and comfortable, staff are really nice and helpful, and the rooms are huge. We were expecting to thoroughly enjoy our stay here. The heating in the rooms is excellent and the views out to the lake are great too. Being a 20-25 minute walk into Queenstown is also very convenient especially given the traffic in town now.||However, not directly the fault of the property but we were kept up all night by a drunk returning guest. She entered the property and first knocked on our door a dozen times, until I finally got up and told her she had entered the wrong room. She then went to another room and began knocking and yelling at that room - for an hour. I went to find her but could find where she it was coming from. She knocked and screamed - for another hour. I went downstairs and found the room where the knocking was coming from. She was already inside the door of one room, but was unable to get into some second door (from what I could decipher from her yelling). All I could do was try to tell her through the door that she was disturbing the entire building (as I could hear her through the floor and walls). ||Overall A) the sound proofing of the building is not sufficient, B) we choose this property thinking it would a quiet choice as it is outside of the main center (we were wrong), and C) there is no security or staff in the night time to deal with these situations. Access to the property also does not require any access key so anyone could have entered the property and behaved exactly...
Read moreStunning views and very good location. However, rooms are quite old and run down. Supposed to be a serviced apartment room but no dishwasher liquid, no dish brush, no teatowels, not even a tissue box in the room. Had pre requested a portacot in the room and upon arrival it was set up and just had a sheet placed on the hard base. No foam mattress. Upon calling they advised me they probably didn't have any left and if I wanted a blanket instead. Not very comfortable for my son to be sleeping on a blanket on top of a hard base, which I advised the receptionist. She said she would check and let me know. 45 min later still no response so I call again to follow up as its 9pm and my toddler was super tired. She tells me they have no mattresses at all as they don't provide them. I asked how they could provide a portacot without a foam mattress on top, do they expect the babies to sleep on the hard base ? Apparently she said its their policy to not provide a foam mattress. Not sure how this can be a policy. Have never stayed at a hotel where they don't provide the mattress with the cot what is the point of supplying a portacot then! Was very unhappy and the fact that I didn't even get a call back and had to follow up. We are at our next hotel now and the service has been amazing and even got provided a mattress for my sons portacot. They also have all kitchen products provided and its not even a...
