This place and its owner has zero customer service. Let alone they terrorise their guests over something that could have been a very simple request. I have seen how this tall, white guy stormed our room when we were preparing to check out. He was uninvited and started swearing towards my son. He was unhappy because my son and daughter-in-law requested amicably to have us moved to an adjacent room because we could all fit in there together and have the other room vacated and requested a refund for the other unoccupied room and offered to pay extra for two more guests in the first room but she did not heed to this request. Things were not taken positively by the lady receptionist, raising her voice to my son and daughter-in-law and even slamming the key by her hand against the hard table at the reception. The CCTV footage could attest true to this. So the husband of the receptionist from the day before stormed our room believing my son abused her wife which was untrue at all, this can be proven by the CCTV footage. The lady was unaccommodating and unfriendly at all over a reasonable request by my son and daughter-in-law. Never have I seen somebody verbally abused my son in front of me and my family which was very unfortunate. This incident was totally unnecessary if the owners resorted to an cordial resolution to the request. It’s also surprising how these people are still in business when they treat their guests this way. The numerous negative reviews both in google and booking.com will not lie. What should have been a last minute family bonding as me and my wife were preparing to disembark to a 4 week holiday turned out to be an ugly incident and a show of distasteful and repugnant personalities. We will not go out our way to go to the police station after the incident if we were not verbally abused and our rights as paying guest disrespected as we were in hurry to be in the airport that day. I will tell all my friends, family, workmates, acquaintances to not patronise this place. In addition to what had happened, the place is also musty and dusty. Where we parked is also an eye sore where there are lots of unkempt things occupying the...

ALERT- BE AWARE OF ”CLOSET” DOOR ENTRANCES TO YOUR ROOM. I have never written a review on a hotel before and I just have to share our awful awful experience during our stay. We stayed on 11/8/2023-11/9/2023 (which was our one year anniversary).

We woke up on 11/9 and were about to get ready and suddenly this door that we thought was a closet storage door in our room opened and this lady (who was the receptionist) was looking straight at us while my husband and I were in bed. We were SHOCKED and totally speechless. The door that she opened and and came through only had a key lock so we figured it was a utility closet of some sort. I would have neverrrr imagined the workers at this hotel could just enter our room through this door that we didn’t even have the capability of locking. There was no option to lock this door!!!! She also lingered after apologizing and it felt like she was trying to see what was going on since the door had a direct view of the bed. Thank god we were under blankets because we were not clothed and had she come in even 5 minutes later she would have seen us complete naked. My husband did scream at her to tell her to go away and she finally closed the door. It’s absolutely unbelievable & now we’ve been questioning if someone came into our room while we were gone or even while we were sleeping. We tried to speak to someone about this while checking out and no one was at the front desk, which was predictable since we were sure they didn’t want to face us and were avoiding the confrontation.

All that to say, don’t stay here, and if you do, make sure you put something in front of any closet utility looking doors in your room to block the staff from creepily barging...

My family was supposed to stay at 2 separate units. Upon arriving we realized that we could fit in a single unit so my brother kindly asked at the reception if its possible to get a refund for the other room since we wont be using it anymore. The lady receptionist who is understood to be the female owner did not budge. My brother and sister-in-law phoned Booking. com to report the issue. There was an argument as the lady raised her voice when my brother and sister-in-law returned the key of the other unit to the lady at reception. Why would we stay in an extra room if we all could reasonably fit as 5 adults in one of the units. We would love to stay together as one big family in the studio type unit. After that we didnt insist for a refund anymore. Morning came and an hour before checking out, we gave back the key while still packing up. Suddenly there's this man inside our room, he just barged in without knocking and without introducing who he was. He was so rude. We only realized he works there when he rudely said he's checking our room. I was still changing clothes that time so I was half naked. Luckily I'm a guy, but what if I was a female member of our family? He then proceeded to raise his voice to us. Turns out he was furious from the earlier argument. Completely disregarded our privacy, excessively yelled profanities and derogatory comments to us right in front of children until they're crying, pointed fingers, we were very intimidated. Horrible would be an understatement. I didnt know customer service could be this hopeless. No apologies or remorse from them after terrorising my family and invading...

Was quite impressed with what this motel had to offer. Actually, starting off with an amazingly low booking fee , I was coerced into thinking that it would be a basic motel but my expectations were far far exceeded when we visited. Backed by the spectacular snow capped mountains with the river as its foot stool , the motel looked breathtakingly beautiful dotted into its backdrop. The rooms were simple but clean and well arranged. Basic amenities were aplenty staring from an extra single bed, to cost linen to a microwave to Amazon prime television to cutlery and crockery, this little wonder had everything. Well worth the money . Will revisit and spread the word.

Earnslaw Lodge has great location and easy to access from the airport by bus, bus station is just in front of the hotel. Downtown is only 10 to 15 min walk from the hotel, so we mostly took a walk and took bus in the night hour. Room is spacious and basic amenities including microwave, utensils were provided. We reserved Lakeview room and the view was fantastic. We are leaving tomorrow afternoon flight. The gentleman even allows us a late check out for our convenience. I strongly recommend this hotel if you plan to stay in Queenstown, NZ. A+

We booked this accommodation months ago not knowing anything about it and we have loved our stay here. The people who run it are caring and attentive and have made us feel incredibly welcomed. The bus to The Remarkables is right outside the front door and it is only a short walk to town. We have been so happy with our stay here and would highly recommend it. Without a doubt the view is the greatest part and have loved watching the sun rise and set here everyday. Thank you.
