THE MEWS OAMARU — Hotel in South Island

In my fortnight of travelling around South Island, The Mews was the most outstanding accommodation I’ve stayed at. Modern, quiet, comfortable with a Spa, pleasant shower, big flat screen TV (for any rainy day, or nice evening viewing). The welcome was warm, advice on sights to see, excellent and no surprise that Lonely Planet features The Mews as the place to stay in Oamaru. My apartment could easily accommodate three ( queen bed and separate single) two lounge chairs, good sized desk, and the FASTEST INTERNET at nearly 100 Mb download and upload speeds. Stayed one night in a Spa King Cottage at the Mews in Oamaru. The owner, Paula, greeted us at reception, walked us to our cottage and made dinner reservations at the Del Mar Restaurant next to the Blue Penguin Colony viewing site. Very impressed with Paula’s brilliant and friendly service. The unit was exceptionally designed with a small living area with a full apartment size kitchen, separate bedroom and bathroom with a very deep spa. Two flat screen TVs and fast WiFi was a plus. Great place to stay. It's a great find in Oamaru. The guest room is well laid out and equipped. Tv DVD player ironing board extra blanket pillows fridge microwave hob kettle. The living space is large and comfortable. There are 2 large booklets with local information and menus from the local eateries. Continental breakfast is an extra cost of $15 needs to be ordered by 8pm. The bathroom comes with usual miniatures but also a facecloth for removing makeup. Spa bath and overhead shower.
