Albany Executive Motor Inn — Hotel in Upper Harbour

So unbelievably expensive.

So I travel a lot and stay in many hotels and motels all over the world. This is one place I will never stay again.

The rooms are large and clean which is nice. No AC. which is not such a big deal but had to have the windows and door open. So people looking in and truck and loud vehicles were annoying. Check out is 10 am which is quite early but had a maid come in at 8.30 am.

The room was 170 a night. Not the advertised 83 so ignore that. And here is the real kicker. The TV sux. Some kind of wierd free connection with incredibly poor selection. The worst I have seen full stop. On a tiny tiny little tv. So I was forget that fire up my laptop and watch Netflix. Didn't watch that much couple of hours. And a 200 dollar Internet bill from the hotel. You have got to be joking.

For the money they charged me for two nights I could have stayed anywhere in auckland and I have stayed in fabulous 5 star hotels that have cost much less for much more.

I would have given 4 or 5 stars. But the staff and service was wierd. And I felt completely ripped off. I stay in auckland often and there was a good chance I would have stayed here often. Plus recommended to people. That's where...

I stayed at this place for a month and checked out last Friday on the 25th of April. All the bills were cleared before checking out as the rent here has to be pre-paid. Two days after checking out, on Sunday 27th of April, the receptionist charged me $247.20 from my bank account without my authorisation and consent. He said I was charged this amount for not following the checkout procedure and that he is only following the motels policy. The amount he charged is worth 2 days stay. When asked what the checkout procedure is he responded that before leaving I had to report to the reception and let him know that I was leaving. My bad, I didn't know I was staying at an ARMY CAMP!!!! In addition to this I wasn't made aware of any "CHECK OUT PROCEDURE " when I checked into this motel. In essence I was literally robbed $247.20 from my bank account without my consent and authorisation. This place is a total scam and the receptionist is a thief. Rent this place if you want...

I had booked it for my sister and her friend as our house was full. The flight was delayed and then late yet again. We got there at 2am. The office was closed and there were no instructions or keys anywhere. I rang the service number and I connected to a very rude brat. He grumbled and grizzled so much that my sister was frightened to stay there.||||His excuse was that it says on the online listing to let them know of late arrival. BUT BUT, he knew we had booked for that night, he had my email and phone number. The PROPER thing to do, before he retired, would have been to email or text me the instructions for the key.
