During my visit to Kumkang Mountain, I had the pleasure of dining at the Kumkang Mountain Restaurant, which proved to be a delightful culinary experience complemented by its stunning natural surroundings. Located conveniently near the mountain's base, the restaurant offers a serene ambiance and panoramic views that enhance the overall dining experience.

Upon entering the restaurant, I was greeted by a warm and friendly staff who guided me to my table. The interior exudes a rustic charm, with wooden furnishings and tasteful decorations that create a cozy atmosphere. Large windows provide ample natural light and allow diners to marvel at the breathtaking vistas of the mountain's verdant landscapes.

The menu at Kumkang Mountain Restaurant offers a diverse selection of dishes, ranging from traditional Korean delicacies to international cuisines, ensuring there is something to satisfy every palate. As a fan of Korean cuisine, I was pleased to find a variety of authentic dishes prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. The flavors were robust and well-balanced, showcasing the skillful craftsmanship of the chefs.

One dish that stood out was the Bibimbap, a traditional Korean rice bowl with an assortment of vegetables, marinated meat, and a perfectly fried egg. The combination of textures and flavors was exquisite, and it was evident that great care had been taken in its preparation. I also had the opportunity to try the Japchae, a stir-fried glass noodle dish, which was equally delightful.

The service at Kumkang Mountain Restaurant was attentive and prompt, with the staff displaying a genuine passion for hospitality. They were knowledgeable about the menu and readily provided recommendations based on personal preferences. The waitstaff ensured that I had everything I needed throughout the meal, adding to the overall pleasant dining experience.

One aspect that could be improved is the variety of vegetarian or vegan options on the menu. While there were a few choices available, a wider selection for those with dietary restrictions would be a welcome addition.

Overall, dining at Kumkang Mountain Restaurant was a memorable experience. The combination of delectable food, friendly service, and the stunning natural backdrop made for an enchanting culinary journey. Whether you are visiting Kumkang Mountain for its breathtaking landscapes or seeking a delightful meal, this restaurant is definitely...

Some places earn your loyalty dish by dish. Not with flash. Not with gimmicks. Just with food that feeds you in the real sense—body, memory, soul. This is one of those places.

Start with the Samgyetang. It’s not a novelty. It’s medicine disguised as comfort food. Real ginseng. Clean broth. Tender chicken that falls apart like it knows your immune system needs a break. I’ve walked in here with a fever and walked out sweating, full, and somehow alive again. It works. Ask my sinuses.

But let’s talk about the Galbijjim—the star of the show. Massive chunks of braised short rib, tender like it spent its life being marinated in a love letter. Rich, balanced, not overly sweet, not timid either. It comes out with the kind of side dishes that make you want to apologize to your childhood self for ever complaining about banchan. I’ve brought picky eaters here, older relatives with opinions sharpened by decades of mediocre meals, and I swear—9 out of 10 cleaned their plates like they were being tested for honor.

Then there’s the Donkatsu. Not your Westernized, fast-food cutlet. This is the real thing—crispy, juicy, laid over sauce that’s nutty, savory, deep. I mix it up old-school with the cabbage and the rice, and suddenly I’m back in a different decade. It’s not just a dish—it’s a ritual.

The place itself? Nothing fancy. Just clean tables, the hum of kitchen noise, and the kind of low-key comfort you expect from a solid Seolleongtang joint. It gets loud at peak hours—families, steam, chopsticks—but if you come in early or late, you’ll get a side of peace with your soup.

And the staff? Unfailingly kind. The kind of people who remember your order and smile without trying to sell you anything. Just doing their job, and doing it well.

Highly recommended? Absolutely. But more than that—this place is trusted. And that’s harder to find...

Little bit out of the way, especially if you're driving from the city across the bridge.

Tucked away in a little nook of the Shore, parking was aplenty and easy to get to. Then again, it was a Monday night.

Food portions were plenty and the side dishes weren't exactly generous but adequate.

Staff were attentive and helpful, catering to our request to store a cake for my father-in-law's birthday and then bring it out later.

A nice touch is their coffee machine which produced a sort of coffee mocha mix which was not too sweet either and it ended the meal well.

Ventilation in the restaurant is great and even though we were grilling thick slices of bacon, we didn't go home smelling like it.

Worth coming back again especially...

The place is thee best! food is sooo amazing and the servers are so friendly and kind!! My family and i come here regularly and i wish they would open another shop closer to central so we don’t have to make such a trip every time we want to eat their amazing food. This time we got the raw marinated crab as well as the spicy pork back bone soup and they were both sooo good. flavours are always so perfect and they give sooo many side dishes which are refillable. If someone were to ask me for a restaurant recommendation i would say hands down this place!
