My family and I stayed at this report for 4 nights in May of 2018. Overall i was very disappointed with the place. The view is really great but for the price one would expect much better amenities and cleanliness. This resort is OLD and it shows. It is in desperate needs of an upgrade to be considered remotely "luxury" which is how it is being advertised. Our first room was literally infested with termites as evidenced by the hundreds of holes in the wood beams, out of which insects would fly out regularly and end up dead on the room floors. Others critters would turn up in our bedding and in our room. Bathroom appears old and dirty, leaving one to hope for the best when going to the restrooms. Fridge did not work in our room and when opened had the foulest smell. Occasional leaks from the ceiling provided entertainment at nights with puddles on the floor and having to strategically move the bed to not end up in a pool. Talking about pool, the swimming pools in the upper levels were barely maintained, filters were often not running leading to murky water and having to compete with floating bugs. This probably was ONCE a nice place, but I would recommend anyone to stay away especially considering how much they...
Read moreAbsolutely BRILLIANT. I booked for 3 nights and eventually changed my future plans and stayed for 8. What a lovely place! I started in Roble apartment which had a lovely terrace with sea view, and the apartment itself was so comfortable and the kitchen very well equipped. The wifi was terrific as every apartment has its own device. The pool was lovely too. I had to switch to Limon partway through my extended stay as Roble was booked, which was a bit cheaper but also terrific, with a garden and side sea view. I didn't want to leave and, as I sit in Playa Maderas, wish I hadn't!
The staff were ALL excellent, from security staff and the girls who cleaned the rooms or gave me the room keys to Eliezer who handled a zillion questions from me promptly and professionally via WhatsApp before and during my stay. And in English, which I appreciated as my Spanish is limited.
The accommodation is up a series of steps and far enough from town that you've no idea it's a party town below. Yet numerous great eating venues are only a few minutes' walk away, as is the market if you want to to cook in the apartment.
It's the nicest place I've stayed in my 4 weeks in Nicaragua and one I'd...
Read moreResort is at the up on the hill, get views but it has its down point, Hotel offers nothing but sleeping accommodation, there is nothing to do at the hotel. I have been here 3 days and 1 of the restaurants they offer has been closed. We were put in the back of the property and you need to get picked up and dropped off. The shuttle service is spotty, some times they get you and times you have to wait 15 min for a ride. The breakfast is poor, cold food when it arrives and you could find better choices on the outside. Nice rooms but it comes with its ups and downs. Half the staff do no speak English, Would I stay here again, answer no there are better choices if you want to get out and about. To many stairs and they have nothing to offer but free rides to hour room. No hotel entertainment, nothing to do on...
