Sabores de mi Patio — Restaurant in San Juan del Sur (Municipio)

Please whatever you do, come here for a meal when you are in or near San Juan del Sur. I have been in the restaurant business for over 18 years. From mom and pops to Michelin I've worked them all. This place is absolutely outstanding! I was nervous for the walk there because it's across town in the corner but I would walk miles for this place. The service was so attentive and friendly. The appetizer they give you to start was chips with this incredible bean/salsa mix that's just wonderful. Use the house pickled salsa on the table too. The steak was cooked to perfection and was just delightful. Whatever season mix they use is a beautiful balance of flavor. The vegetables were cooked and seasoned perfectly. Nothing over done with flavor but it was all there in harmony. The chimichurri was easily one the best I've ever had too. The mashed potatoes had this tang to it that just worked. I cannot rave about this place enough. I texted my industry friends immediately to help me figure out what some of the ingredients are. To the guy with the review for one star, I would easily have waited hours for this meal, relax and be patient. Please go here. It's family owned and operated. Walked up here on a recommendation from a local friend, and WOW. So glad I did. The staff were prompt and attentive, the atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable, and the food... Easily among the best meals I've had in San Juan del Sur (and I've had some pretty good meals here).

Arguably the best chicken I've had here, perfectly prepared with wonderful flavour, and a generous portion especially considering the low cost (I had expected to spend more based on the photos of the presentation of the dishes).

I'll add this -- it's located in a less well lit part of town, but only a block from the church and central park, and there were families outside, kids playing... The neighbourhood feels very safe and with the quality of food and service it's well worth the walk.

I'll definitely be back, probably...

THE BEST RIBEYE EVER!

We were recommended to come here for steak. We passed over the coeliac card and they understood, however they did serve the steak with a sausage that likely has wheat in so that was removed and no contamination ill effects thankfully. They have a gf beer available. There is a good offer of gf food but with the steak reviews we opted for this.
