Went there on my first night in SJDR. I was excited because overall heard good things about the place. When I first arrived, I was welcomed by a nice waiter who assisted with ordering the food and settling in. The music was nice, and the atmosphere had a lot of potential, but waiting almost an hour for some guac, 1 order of tacos and a quesadilla cancels it out a bit. Thankfully there was some jenga to pass the time. The eating experience was overall underwhelming and a bit of a disappointment. The prices aren’t that bad if it were regular sized dishes, but it came with the smallest portion of guac, a handful of chips, two small tacos and three small pieces of quesadilla. To add to it, the guac simply was not it - it felt like I was eating a lemon and cilantro paste with some pickled onion to decorate. The kind waiter brought a new guac, but it was the same taste. Since there were no changes, I asked if the order could be removed and he said yes. Once the payment was to be processed with a different man, I inquired about the guac charge, and he immediately started being aggressive and on the line of being disrespectful. He finally ended up charging my party and I for the guac because he felt we were “disrespecting his guac”. The worst part and the one that honestly made me feel unsafe as a female traveler in a foreign country was walking to my car and seeing that he was waiting out on the street until I drove off.
Overall I’m just disappointed with this experience and hope that if you decide to visit you won’t encounter the same...
Read moreWe went to the place with high expectations as other reviews suggested a good burger, but we were fairly disappointed.
Besides the fact I found a hair in mine (which can happen in high class places too, hence I will not talk about this too much), the burgers were a let down.
They were small, which is visually unappealing, the buns were hard and incredibly chewy.
We had a blue cheese burger and the vegetarian option to see how both types tasted like. The veggie patty was falling apart, it was almost mushy, and the meat in the blue cheese burger was overcooked which i guess it can happen easily with such small patty and there’s hardly any cheese in it except that you can faintly smell it when you bite it.
Overall i think that if i made the burgers myself at home i would have done a better job and a clean one, plus i would have bought the bread from a decent bakery.
For a whopping 250 Cordoba a burger, I would strongly recommend not to eat there.
But go for drinks and atmosphere, thats why i...
Read moreVery attentive and kind service. That was the best thing about this place. Food was okay, bordering no good. Nachos were local style, nothing to do with regular nachos. This is their own version… (No refried beans, no cheddar cheese, no beef fajitas or ground beef, or grilled chicken cubes). They topped the nacho chips with boiled/pulled meats (chicken, pork or beef) then pickled onions, tomatoes and various sauces. A mayo based sauce, then local “crema” (sour cream) and a green sauce.. (I suspect is was blended avocado and crema). If you are just looking for cheap food to fill your belly, the portions are large, so that would do the job. This very small establishment is on a back street. It was not our kind of scene… but maybe wonderful for others. The street smells, sounds and people reminded us of Bourbon Street in...
