Pane Nostro — Restaurant in San Juan del Sur (Municipio)

This is great little place slightly off the beaten path, only three blocks from the beach but you can relax and enjoy your meal and avoid some of the hassles of eating closer to “the action”. The food is excellent and the owners, Adam, Tina and Mauro are the most down to earth people you could have the pleasure to meet and their staff are amazing and extremely friendly and helpful. We had the pleasure to rent/stay in the apartment above the restaurant which is owned by Pane Nostro. It is a very large, fully equipped and super comfortable apartment with all of the fixings including two fully recliner theatre chairs with cup holders to relax and watch your favourite Netflix or whatever shows on the big screen TV. We were told by a local that this was the best Italian around, and that Thursday was the day to go. We get there and there's live music outside so we sit out there. Soon, all the seats outside were taken and some people were even standing, soon we found out why. Not only was the band excellent, but the food! The noodles and sauce were all homemade and the ingredients were so fresh! We ate until we were stuffed and still took some home with us. Before we left the owner, Tina, came over and introduced herself to us. Then, she introduced us to her husband Adam, THEN we were introduced to all the people outside listening to the music! Pizza is decent but business practice is shady.

Bought 4 pizzas during their advertised buy one get one half off deal. 3 medium and 1 large.

They brought the bill and only discounted 1 pizza. Said that the sizes needed to match to get the discount.

I understand discounting the cheaper of the two (standard practice) but to deny the discount is bizarre.

I thought it was a mistake so I pointed it out but she doubled down saying I wasn't eligible.

I also pointed out that it would have been cheaper for me to buy 5 medium pizzas and got more pizza overall for less money. She didn't care, her (unpublished) technicality was the rule.
