Located at: Femi Pearce, 20 Elise Femi Pearce St, Victoria Island 10121, Lagos, Nigeria. It’s okay it’s definitely a boutique hotel. The pool area was nice, the bar was extremely overpriced. And it took forever to get a drink. Thankfully they had a DJ to distract me.
Rooms: mine was small good for a solo person. I was in a non-smoking room. But the other rooms were possibly smoking allowed. Because there were many times I couldn’t breathe through the smoke inhalation. The WiFi was such a hassle to get and it didn’t work very well. And only one person there knew how to work it. Cleaning: The housekeeper rarely came. Thankfully the room was manageable. But for the price they should come daily. Breakfast: The food was buffet style. Some of it was cold. And it was mediocre at best. Barely if any refills of food or drinks. Restaurant food: Extremely overpriced and not tasty. I ate there once and that was enough. Definitely skip it. The menu isn’t expansive enough.
Bad behavior from guest services: I was heading into my room for something. And a guy from the group I was in, followed nearby. I went into my room and locked the door behind me. A few seconds I heard the guy say, “Excuse me what room did that girl go into?”
The guest services lady stated: “Oh this is room #number____”
And she told him my number. And a few seconds later I heard banging on my door to let them in. I was shocked that a guest services would answer that question since. I was a solo female traveler who came in by myself. I felt very unsafe when she did that.
Safety: They have a gateman and security so that is good. Would I stay there again? Idk maybe if they lowered their prices. But, not at this current price of $136 a night.
Updated : Since the owner isn’t trying to claim his hotel. I stayed in the Riviera Suites in VI! Not any...
Read moreI am writing this review while still staying here. That’s to explain how extremely disappointed I am at the features.
Rooms: They call it a suite, but it’s really just a bigger room with two chairs and a table. I’ve stayed in suites at different hotels. Calling this a suite, is an aberration. Call it what it is.
One of the side lamp is not working.
Food: Okay this is where I have real issues. How on earth is a basic meal of jollof rice and some fish fillet 24K? I have attached the picture. Look at this and tell me if this food is worth that price. Not to mention the taste isn’t that special. It’s salty and over spiced.
For that amount, I expect a meal that can feed two people at the very least. Not to mention the rice tastes like a hurriedly prepared meal from a local fast food joint.
I am still struggling to understand why the food cost that much. Cos, I am not seeing anything spectacular, right now. This is zero value for money.
The good.
Apart from calling the rooms what they are not, it’s pretty big. But then again, at that price point, I’d expect such room size. So again, nothing spectacular.
The location was the only thing good for me, cos it was close to where I have an appointment. But that is highly subjective as well.
Verdict:
You can decide if this is the best hotel for you based on your needs. But personally, I’ll never come here again. If my company wasn’t paying the bills, I would have checked out...
Read moreNew year lunch done right! My first visit to Riviera's fine dine restaurant Oceans5 with friends and everything there was spectacular and everyone working there were extremely nice. Listing few things that made me fall for Oceans5 - 1. Ambience - It is just perfect. Every corner in the restaurant is picture worthy spot. So go ahead and click tons of them. The lighting is too good & calming ( attaching few fav clicks). Liked the overall color combination of the place (classy, is the word). 2. Staff - People working there are friendly and know food. They give good suggestions based on your preferences and trust me they know what they are doing (enjoyed every dish suggested by them). Food - Love. love. and absolutely love. I am a vegetarian and guess what, they have soo many veg options(it made me super happy). We ordered Mushroom baklava (yumm), Vegetarian platter ( Samosa, spring roll & onion cake), Garlic fried rice (must must try) , Rajdhani dal (super wow, hats off to chef), Paneer butter masala & roti. Everything we ordered was delicious. So happy tummy , happy me! Service - Quick & Attentive. It was one of the best experience I have had so far. I highly recommend going there and enjoy food with great ambience. Congratulations to the management...
