I stayed at your hotel and, while I found the environment clean and generally well-kept, my overall experience was marred by what I consider to be poor reception and a lack of empathy from the front desk staff.

On the morning of 27th September 2025, I woke up to find my phone switched off due to low battery. I reached for my bag to charge it and realized I had mistakenly packed only the charger head without the cable. I immediately called the reception to ask if they could kindly assist me with a phone charger (Type-C or iPhone) so that I could power my phone before leaving for an important appointment.

To my shock, I was told that not only did the hotel not have a spare charger for guests, but none of the staff at the reception could help either. I even offered to come down personally to pick it up, but was still told there was nothing they could do. This left me stranded and unable to check the time or book a ride.

What made it more disappointing was that I could clearly hear multiple staff members (three or four voices) at the reception during the call, and when I checked out later, I saw them all present. Yet no one showed empathy or made any effort to help, despite my repeated pleas. This made me feel disregarded and deeply uncomfortable I couldn’t help but wonder if it was because I am a woman traveling alone.

It is truly disheartening to pay ₦100,000 for a night’s stay and still be forced to go outside and beg strangers to charge my phone. That experience was both horrible and ridiculous for a hotel of your standard.

I sincerely hope management takes this feedback seriously and improves the level of guest care and empathy at the front desk. Basic assistance like offering a phone charger, or at least genuinely trying to help, should be a standard practice in a hotel that prides itself on...

The customer service in this place is terrible and I hope the management does something about it. Especially the front desk. I needed sanitary towels one night, I was a guest, my first night, and I was suddenly on my period, called the front desk for help and the person I spoke to just gave me a bland no, we don't have. No empathy, nothing. Asked if there was anywhere nearby I could get, they made no effort to give directions, find out or help, they just said they don't know. I trekked for almost 45mins that night, around 9pm before I found an open pharmacy. When I was checking out 6 days later, I had a lot to carry. The receptionists, 3 of them, watched me take several trips up the stairs, almost 8 times without saying a word to me, not even good morning. The lift was faulty. When my driver came, he eventually joined me to help, they were just staring at me. The reason I'm writing this after 2 weeks is because, I just spoke to the person on your call line to ask if they found my airport, because I just realised it missing and the last time I saw it was in the hotel, it was the same attitude, no empathy, borderline rude and no form of service. Writing this for management to fix this because I'm not sure you know this...

The friendly and hard working staff is what makes the stay passeble, due to the many down sides of the Riggs Victoria island. . I liked the room service, the cleanliness and overall look. Also the comfortable pillows. All the staff is helpful and friendly. . Now to the BAD: _International cards not accepted?! in a hotel? wake up! _WiFi is so poor you can forget about using it for work. _Windows provide NO insulation so you need to run AC on full blast at all times. _AC switches of when you leave room,so you come back to an inferno which takes 3 hours to cool down. _Sleep is near to impossible, due to ever working AC and stone hard mattress. _Cook has no training to expectations of international guests, my "meat" was literally skins and bones. _Pool had oily surface _Rooftop offers no seating nor any shading _Double room equipped for 1 person only _Constantly wet floor due to bad shower design . I was really happy the staff was helpful with all my struggless. If it wasnt for their hard work, the rating will be *: It is the owners/managers who did a sloppy job. Cheap material, poor wifi and non insulated windows being the most obvious sign of this. If...

It’s a nice place to rest at with complimentary breakfast. The staff were nice especially the security, those are the nicest people in the facility. The rooms were clean, breakfast is amazing I had to compliment the chef twice. Though it seems there were only 2 options for breakfast, toast bread and sausage with tea/coffee or yam and sauce. As of when I went there, there wasn’t any signage outside to point out that it’s The Rigg Place. However I had to use the number on the wall 18b to recognize the building and when I asked one of the staff why there wasn’t a signage outside, she curtly told me that was how her boss (or was it founder) wanted it. In a quick snark tone to me as though I shouldn’t be asking. Other wise my stay was pleasant.

The all new Wing 3 of De Rigg Place on the Island at last! No more excuses for the lsland visitors who always wished De Rigg Place was on the Island instead of the Mainland in Surulere, Lagos. As usual, top notch services, clean rooms, cautious and friendly staff were on hand to cater for my needs even though the hotel was only just opening 👍 Well done 👏 ✔️

Excellent place for a weekend getaway or even for spending your holiday when in Lagos. The price is fair considering the facilities, services, and it's location which is a prime one. Staff are friendly, rooms and environment is very clean and well kept. Parking space is good. Has a good gym and pool.
