During our recent birthday weekend getaway, my wife and I had the pleasure of staying at Hotel San Felipe, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish.
From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was memorable. They not only helped me arrange a delightful birthday cake surprise for my wife but also greeted us warmly and consistently checked in to ensure we were enjoying ourselves. Their genuine friendliness truly made us feel welcome and valued guests throughout our stay.
Our room was a sanctuary of cleanliness, comfort, and tranquility. The ample closet space and availability of a safe added practicality to the cozy atmosphere, allowing us to relax and unwind without any worries.
One highlight of our stay was dining at El Enemigo, the hotel's restaurant and bar located conveniently across the street. The rooftop setting exuded elegance, and the food and drinks were nothing short of delightful. It was the perfect spot to celebrate and indulge during our special weekend.
The hotel's location in Casco Antiguo couldn't have been better. We found ourselves within walking distance of all the attractions we had planned to visit, making exploration effortless and enjoyable.

In early February, I was impressed with what appears to be a recent remodel of the building, cleanliness and exceptionally friendly registration staff. On the third day, I stumbled on a short, then long step down causing a fall. The fall triggered severe vertigo. With only one eye and vertigo, it was impossible to use the narrow sidewalks a foot above the cobblestone streets. It was safer to walk in the street dodging cars. Vertigo eased after lying in bed for several hours, but returned when walking to nearby museums, parks, and churches. I contacted the travel insurance company, which advised returning to Florida, after a physician’s medical clearance to travel. Management that would not respond to emails once my credit card was charged for nine nights is the only reason for my poor rating. Beware when booking a room at Hotel San Felipe. Fortunately, I had travel insurance. Avoid Hotel San Felipe. Once you provide a credit card number, you'll never hear from management.||Positive aspects:|Clean, spacious rooms|Newly remodeled building|Friendly, helpful staff||Negatives:|Charging for the entire nine nights when a medical issue required early departure|Management that would not reply to emails about charging for a room not occupied|$20.00 for breakfast even for those who...
