Casco Viejo Tours — Local services in San Felipe

My wife and I met Goran for a tour of Casco Viejo on our last full day in Panama. I wish we had taken his tour much earlier in our stay as we learned so much about the area and Panama in general. I really appreciated Goran beginning the tour with a brief history of Panama, including pictures and maps, setting the stage for what he showed us (providing some context). This was unlike many tours we have experienced where the tour guide will identify points of interest, but not provide the background/context for it all to make sense. Goran happily answered our questions and patiently waited while we took pictures. We never felt rushed. Amazing experience with our tour guide! Our guide, [Goran], was excellent – kind, knowledgeable, and very dedicated. Not only did they explain the cultural and historical significance of the locations, but they also made sure to recommend local spots for food and activities that aren’t on the usual tourist trails.

We visited the old town – Casco Viejo, the Panama Canal, and a few nature reserves around the city. The way [Goran ] shared the stories made us feel like we were part of Panama’s history.

It was a tour of 9 girls on a girls’ trip to Panama for the first time. Our tour guide was Goran. He made sure to stay in Contact with me before the travel. He tailored my trip to my likes/dislikes and time. He even got us a private van with driver to take us around. Goran gave us a very interesting and relaxed tour, filled with information and he knew the answers to all our questions. We are sure, that we would have missed at least half of the details he showed to us. He knew when and where to take pictures, always recognized, when the top points of interest were accessible and not crowded by other tourists.
