Our family of four stayed in the family suite for three nights. The location is quite central and convenient to most attractions and restaurants/bars. Our suite was comfortable and spacious and it even came with a small kitchen (not that we cooked at all but it was nice to have as an extra space). The staff were professional and generally. Special shout out to Natalie for making us feeling at home with her warm friendly hospitality. Our only complaint was the limited supply of hot water for shower. The breaker for the hot water boiler system even tripped on our first night and we had to help the two female staff remove a large painting to get to the breaker box. Otherwise it was a pleasant experience and we would recommend the place for anyone travelling to Arequipa, Peru.

There was no reason not to like this hotel because from the first minutes to the last moment we were truly surrounded by excellent service, beautiful design, and architecture.all the restaurants all the city attractions the central square is just around the corner you can buy all sorts of fancy delicious local delicacies whatever you need everything is here at your fingertips and the prices are really cheap. The breakfast was amazing as they even bake own grain bread like one we have in Lithuania. Special thanks do Donila helping to sort things out. Recommend and will bring more people to this lovely place! 👌

I stayed at this hotel for two nights and really enjoyed my stay. The property is a former mansion that once belonged to a Peruvian president who served from 1899 to 1903. He purchased it during that time and lived here after his term ended. Staying here feels like being part of history, and the rooms are beautifully designed with high ceilings. If you enjoy historical buildings like I do, you will definitely appreciate it. The staff were very friendly, the hotel was spotless, and the location was convenient. I’m glad I chose this place instead of a traditional hotel.

Our family of 5 occupied two rooms for two nights during Semana Santa.

Pros:

The location of this hotel is excellent. We were within walking distance of the main plaza and found what we needed within a few blocks any which way.

The property itself is beautiful and we enjoyed spending time in the courtyard in front of our rooms. There was plenty of seating, including umbrellas, for us to enjoy time talking with one another or reading.

Cons:

There was a very strong odor of a toilet tablet or other cleaning material in the bathroom. It made us a bit queasy and even with the fan running, it never really went away.

The only toiletries provided was an unnamed soap (body and shampoo? Just body?) located in the shower dispenser. When I read "toiletries provided" I plan my packing around that information. The towels were a bit worn and could use an update.

Breakfast was a bit slow to roll out on our last morning so we had to rush a bit to ear before being picked up for our trip to Colca Canyon.

Bottom line:

For the price paid per night we feel that Hotel Casona Solar was a good value. With some improvements in the areas mentioned above, it'd be a 5 star...
