The restaurant is located in Arequipa's old town in a beautiful historic building in the second floor. We had dinner here in September 2025. Overall our experience was good. The food was tasty, but still leaves room for improvement. I would positively point out the alpaca tartar - it was certainly a highlight. I would only suggest to reduce the size of the starters a bit. Our mains were not so amazing. I had the grilled pulpo - it was unfortunately to so tender a lacked a bit more spices and/or sauce. My wife had the vegetarian rocoto relleno - her dish clearly lacked sauce and was very dry (especially the potato pie). We had lunch at Roqoto during our visit to Arequipa, and we highly recommend it!
The restaurant is in a perfect location, just steps from the Plaza de Armas, inside a beautiful colonial cloister that offers a truly unique atmosphere. The interior is beautifully designed, with a rustic yet elegant style that feels both refined and welcoming.
The staff was outstanding, especially the waitress who served us—kind, attentive, and very knowledgeable. She guided us through the menu and explained the different dishes with great enthusiasm.
The cuisine is traditional Peruvian, made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Every dish we tried was flavorful, well-balanced, and beautifully presented. You can really taste the care and respect for local culinary traditions.
An authentic culinary experience in a stunning setting, with excellent service. A must-visit if you’re...
Read moreWe only had 3 days in Arequipa and tried out Victoria, Mundial and this restaurant, Roqoto. Hands down, Roqoto was our favorite. The others were good but Roqoto is on the level with the best meal we had in Peru. The only reason it's not busy has to be due to its location, which is actually amazing on the 2nd floor of the cloisters. Plating presentation, cooking perfection and quality/value all hit 5 stars. This is why we travel. Great memories. Staff was fantastic too. Drinks were large and tasty....
