Hostal El Condor — Hotel in Arequipa

Nino, the manager, was exceptional. He was very friendly and helpful. There was an issue when we booked through Hostelworld, and when we arrived at the hostel to check in, there was no booking! As there was a conference in Arequipa at the time, they had no space for us. Nino apologized and was extremely helpful in finding us some other accommodation for the night. The next day he had availability so we could come back early, check in and received a complimentary breakfast. I understand that this was not the fault of the hostel and his help and kindness were greatly appreciated!|The complex is very comfortable. The buildings are painted white and the little outdoor areas are very pleasant during the day! Breakfast is basic but good. Our room was clean & comfortable - the bathroom was clean and shower was hot most of the time! I really appreciated the natural light in both the room & the bathroom. |There was an incident during the night with one of the guests staying at the hostel. Nino and the other hostel staff handled it professionally and the issue was resolved quickly. |I am giving this hostel 4 stars as it was a thoroughly comfortable stay and the issues we encountered were not the fault of the hostel. Het hostel ligt vrij centraal in het centrum van Arequipa. In slechts 5 minuten sta je bij de Mercado & binnen 10 minuten op de Plaza del Armas. De wijk en het hostel zijn veilig en de eigenaars zijn erg gastvrij. Tijdens onze 5daagse-trip naar de Colca Canyon konden we zonder problemen de spullen achterlaten. Er is Wi-Fi aanwezig maar dat kan soms onbetrouwbaar zijn (iig in onze kamer). Ontbijt (inbegrepen) werd op de kamer bezorgd en was redelijk uitgebreid (gebakken ei, vers fruit, brood & jam). |Minpuntje: De kamer leek helaas niet echt schoon en de verf bladerde van de muren af.|Al met al een basic hostel, waarbij we ons met name door de gastvrijheid van de eigenaren en de goede ligging erg goed...
