Great location in the downtown! , within walking distance to several shops , attractions and restaurants. The staff is very friendly and very eager to help; we happened to stay in the hotel during Arequipas festivities in August and we were surprised to find out the “Tunas show” was right outside the building; which is a bunch of groups from different colleges and country that sing and play instruments; we were able to open our window and enjoy the music while we ordered a couple of delicious Pisco Sours from the downstairs restaurant , where by the way they have fantastic food and great service as well. Breakfast is not included with all reservations but I think it depends on how you book your room but there is a bakery conveniently located across the street that has amazing empanadas, alfajores, coffees and teas. If I would go back to Arequipa , I would definitely stay here again. The rooms are very clean but they could definitely use a carpet update , just make sure you take sandals or slippers if you are...
Read moreWe were given a lovely room overlooking the square but noticed that a stage was being assembled and asked our guide about this. She said that if there was a concert it would finish early. We received better information from the reception at the hotel and, in fact, the concert and the dancing did not start until 9pm and it was incredibly noisy. The whole hotel filled with this noise. We had the insight to move to another (simpler) room. I was so tired that I slept through all the noise anyway. Of course this is not something that happens every day but it is worth being aware of. Other than this the hotel is charming and the staff were helpful. The restaurant at the hotel is very good and the breakfast was absolutely fine. This was a great place to stay for our only night in Arequipa. I guess we were unlucky that there was a concert in the square on just that night. I should add that we sat outside on the roof terrace in the evening - once the concert had finally finished and...
Read moreA nice quiet location on a small square. We had a small double room opposite the reception and down a couple of steps. It was dark but we didn't mind as it was quiet. The bathroom could do with a refurb. An easy (about 10 mins) walk down to the Cathedral square passing lots of nice shops, cafes, restaurants and bars on the way along Calle Bolivar. Lots on rooftops too with views of the Andes.|There is a new internal lift to the top floor for the buffet breakfast room. Breakfast was very disappointing and staff put out minimal food etc for the numbers of guests every day. Had to keep asking them to refill the empty containers no matter what time you went for breakfast. Reception staff were pleasant. A good quiet location in beautiful Arequipa. There are a couple of bars outside on the old square too. But walking down towards the Cathedral along Calle Bolivar on the left our favourite bar was Grietas. Very quirky with inventive cocktails, good snacks and...
